Choose Monet if you want a Material You-style home screen with built-in widgets, animated weather and ambient scenes, user profiles, app PIN locks, and TV-focused rows such as Continue Watching and Live TV. Choose Projectivy Launcher if you want to shape a flexible, ad-free home screen around your own categories, channels, spacing, and layout—and may pay once for advanced wallpaper or icon options. These recommendations reflect each publisher’s feature descriptions, not a hands-on performance comparison.

What Monet offers
Monet’s Google Play listing emphasizes a Material You-inspired interface with dynamic colors, widgets, app folders, a favorites dock, and 26 live wallpaper and ambient scenes. It also describes user profiles, app PIN locks, and rows for Continue Watching and Live TV. If you want those functions built into the launcher rather than assembling a layout from more flexible building blocks, Monet is the more direct fit.
The listing also describes icon packs, tile styles, and per-app overrides. It says core features are free and that an optional one-time premium unlock adds advanced customization; it does not establish a price that should be treated as universal across regions or dates. These are feature descriptions, not evidence that Monet runs faster or more reliably than Projectivy on a particular TV.

What Projectivy Launcher offers
Projectivy’s Google Play listing describes a home screen built around categories, channels, adjustable spacing, and launcher override. That makes it worth considering if you want to organize the screen around your own layout preferences. Its official site says the core launcher is free and that custom wallpapers and deeper icon customization are among the advanced features available with a one-time Premium purchase, not a subscription.
Projectivy’s official site lists smart TVs, projectors, set-top boxes, and Android TV boxes as supported device types. That broad device description does not guarantee identical availability or Home-button behavior on every manufacturer’s model and firmware; check the listing and try the launcher on your device before relying on it as the default.

Monet
Monet’s Google Play listing says Android TV 8.0+ and Google TV. Its official repository specifies Android 8.0/API 26 or newer. The repository also offers an APK and describes sideloading for devices where the Play Store marks the app unsupported. Sideloading is an optional route, not a prerequisite for most readers; use it only if you are comfortable installing an APK and have checked that your device meets the stated requirement.
Projectivy
Projectivy advertises launcher override, but the available product descriptions do not establish that pressing Home behaves the same way across all devices. Confirm that the app is available for your model, then check whether its override works as expected with your TV or box’s firmware before making it your everyday home screen.

Monet’s optional AccessibilityService
Monet’s Play listing says its optional AccessibilityService helps handle Home-key presses and launcher window changes, and that the app works without the service. The listing says this service data is not stored, uploaded, sold, or shared and states that the service cannot read screen contents. Review the permission prompt and current listing when setting up the app; do not enable an accessibility permission without understanding why the app requests it.
Compare customization and cost before choosing
Both launchers describe free core use and optional paid features, but the premium features are not identical. Monet’s listing presents its one-time unlock as adding advanced customization. Projectivy’s official site specifically places custom wallpapers and deeper icon customization behind its one-time Premium purchase. If those particular options matter, check what each app currently includes in your region before paying; no verified current price is stated here.

For a screen you want to personalize without paying, compare the free features available in each app first. If your priority is Monet’s bundled widgets, scenes, profiles, or app locks, its free and premium feature split matters. If your priority is Projectivy’s custom wallpapers or deeper icon options, check whether the Premium unlock is worth it to you. Neither purchase should be assumed to be a subscription.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Read the privacy disclosures with their limits in mind
Monet’s Google Play data-safety section says the app may collect device or other IDs and says it does not share data with third parties. Its listing discusses the optional AccessibilityService separately. Projectivy’s Play disclosure says it collects and shares no data, while its privacy policy says anonymous app-usage information and crash reports may be collected through Google Firebase. These are developer-provided disclosures, not an independent privacy audit, and their wording and details may change. Consult each app’s current store disclosure and policy if privacy is a deciding factor.

There is no verified speed winner
The available product descriptions do not provide a controlled head-to-head comparison of launch speed, memory use, or stability. A feature list cannot establish which launcher will feel faster on your TV. If responsiveness is your main concern, try each launcher on your own device and firmware rather than relying on an unsupported general claim.
