Has Modern Treasury received an OCC charter?
There is no evidence in the available sources that it has. Modern Treasury announced an application; that is not the same as receiving a charter, conditional approval, or final approval.
The OCC’s Digital Assets Licensing Applications page lists pending applications and directs readers to the Corporate Applications Search tool for details. When accessed on October 7, 2026, the page did not list Modern Treasury. Cointelegraph reported that Modern Treasury’s existing payments business had facilitated more than $600 billion in payments across hundreds of organizations. That is a company-attributed figure in the outlet’s 2026 report; it describes the existing payments business, not the proposed bank or its custody activity.
