If you want an MMORPG character creator that changes more than hair and facial features, Black Desert is the clearest verified example here: Pearl Abyss describes controls for height and torso, and its customization guide also names body size. World of Warcraft offers extensive appearance choices for its Skyborne race, but the cited options do not establish adjustable body proportions. A selectable body type is not necessarily a body-shape slider.
What counts as flexible body customization?
For this comparison, a body-type choice means a preset or category, while flexible body customization means controls that let you change proportions such as height or body size. Appearance customization is broader: it can include face, skin color, hair, and other visual details without changing the character’s proportions.
That distinction matters when searching for an “MMORPG character creator with body sliders” or an “MMO with height customization.” Check whether a game actually changes height or body shape, rather than assuming that a body-type label proves it does.
MMORPGs with documented character customization
| Game | What the cited official source establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Black Desert | Pearl Abyss describes customization from height and torso to face, skin texture, and fine details. Its Adventurer’s Guide says players can adjust height and body size as well as hair and face type. | The cited sources do not establish that every option is available to every character, or that change rules are identical in every region. |
| World of Warcraft | Blizzard’s Skyborne article lists extensive selectable appearance options for Body Type 1 and Body Type 2. | The article’s body-type categories and appearance counts do not demonstrate sliders for height or body proportions. |
| FINAL FANTASY XIV | Square Enix’s character-creation manual says players select a race, clan, and gender, then customize appearance. | The cited manual page does not enumerate body-shape sliders or establish flexible body proportions. |
Black Desert: the clearest documented option for body sliders
Pearl Abyss identifies Black Desert as an MMORPG and describes customization reaching from height and torso to skin texture and fine details. Its guide specifically names height and body size among the adjustable features, making it the strongest documented match here for someone who wants to shape proportions rather than choose appearance details alone.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The guide also says that an Appearance Coupon is needed to change a character’s appearance again after creation. That instruction comes from Pearl Abyss’s Asia-site guide; it does not establish the current terms in every regional market. Check the current in-game process for your region before relying on that rule.
World of Warcraft: many Skyborne appearance choices, not proven proportion sliders
Blizzard’s article about the Skyborne documents two body-type categories and a range of appearance selections. For this race, it lists ten face options and nine skin-color options for each type. It lists 21 hairstyles for Body Type 1 and 25 for Body Type 2. These figures describe the Skyborne options in Blizzard’s article; they count appearance choices, not body shapes or adjustable proportions.

So World of Warcraft is a supported example of broad appearance customization, but the cited source does not show that the Skyborne creator lets you adjust height, build, or other proportions. Treat the two body-type labels as categories unless the current in-game creator shows more detailed controls.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: appearance customization is confirmed, proportions are not
Square Enix’s official FINAL FANTASY XIV manual describes choosing a race, clan, and gender, followed by character appearance customization. The cited manual page does not specify body sliders, so it cannot confirm that players can freely alter height or body shape. If proportions are a deciding factor, inspect the current creator rather than inferring slider options from the general customization description.

How to compare character creators before choosing
- Look for proportion controls: Check specifically for height, body size, or shape adjustments—not just body-type presets.
- Separate body and surface options: Face, skin, hair, markings, and similar details expand appearance choices but do not by themselves change proportions.
- Compare the same character choices: Options may depend on race, class, or another selection. Confirm what is available for the character you intend to make.
- Check editing after creation: A game may treat initial creation and later appearance changes differently; find out whether later edits require an item or another process.
- Verify the current creator: Game options can change with updates, and a published guide may describe only one race or region.
Which game should you investigate first?
If adjustable height and body size are the priority, start with Black Desert: the official feature page and guide directly name those controls. If a large menu of visual details is enough, Blizzard’s Skyborne article gives concrete examples of World of Warcraft’s appearance options, but does not document proportion sliders. FINAL FANTASY XIV’s manual confirms appearance customization without enough detail to judge body flexibility.
These are verified examples, not a complete ranking of every current MMORPG. The available official descriptions support different levels of customization claims, so compare the current in-game creator against the specific controls you want.
