The EA game in the “$1 for 72 hours” headline is Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. Steam listed it for $0.99, 95% off its $19.99 list price, with the offer ending October 8, 2026. The exact cutoff time and time zone are not stated, so check the Steam listing before buying. The 72-hour framing comes from ComicBook.com’s October 5 report; Steam’s listing provides the actionable end date.
What game is on sale?
It is Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, a first-person action-adventure developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. Steam lists its release date as June 7, 2016. The game follows Faith, a free runner navigating the city of Glass; Steam describes fluid movement and combat as part of the experience.
The central appeal is parkour-style traversal through an urban environment, alongside combat and exploration. ComicBook.com characterizes Catalyst as connected to the Mirror’s Edge franchise and says its story is not connected to the 2008 original, so newcomers can approach it without first playing that game. That continuity guidance is the report’s interpretation, not a Steam requirement.
What are the sale price and deadline?
Steam’s listing, accessed October 7, 2026, showed a $0.99 price, reduced 95% from $19.99, and an offer end date of October 8, 2026. The dollar figure and deadline are time-sensitive; the price may vary by region, and the cited listing does not specify an exact expiration hour or time zone. Use Steam’s live listing to confirm the terms where you are before purchasing.

What should you know before buying on Steam?
This is a Steam digital offer, not evidence of a universally available $1 price. Steam lists the game as single-player, but also identifies these account and software requirements:
- An EA account
- EA online activation
- Installation and background use of the Origin client software
If you do not want an EA account or an additional client requirement, check those terms before checkout. The offer’s end date is not a guarantee that the same price will remain available after the promotion.

What about online features and completion time?
ComicBook.com reported that the game’s multiplayer servers were shut down in December 2023 and that some achievements or trophies became unobtainable. That is reported context; the available sources do not include an official EA shutdown notice. The Steam listing identifies the game as single-player, but the sources here do not establish the current status of every online-dependent feature.
The same report estimates a typical playthrough at 8–14 hours and a completionist run at about 30 hours. Those are estimates attributed to ComicBook.com, not independently verified playtime figures, and actual time will vary with play style.
