A supplied gateway connects to a nearby cellular tower and broadcasts Wi-Fi; you pay for a three-, six-, or twelve-month term upfront. Mint reports typical download speeds of 133–415 Mbps and uploads of 12–55 Mbps, but actual performance depends on local cellular conditions. Check your address before budgeting: general T-Mobile coverage does not guarantee that Mint will offer service at your home.
What is 5G Home MINTernet, and how does it work?
Home MINTernet uses a cellular 5G connection rather than a wired cable or fiber line. Mint supplies a gateway that functions as both modem and Wi-Fi router. The gateway receives the cellular signal and shares the connection with devices in your home.
It is a fixed-location home service, not simply a phone hotspot plan. Mint says it is available only at select addresses, with eligibility confirmed during ordering. Check the exact service address on Mint’s Home MINTernet page; being in a T-Mobile coverage area by itself does not establish eligibility.
What does Mint Home MINTernet cost?
Mint sells three-, six-, and twelve-month terms, with the full term paid upfront. Its listed monthly-equivalent prices vary according to whether you also have a Mint phone plan. Taxes and fees are extra.

These are monthly-equivalent rates from Mint’s listed term pricing, not monthly installments; the applicable term is paid upfront. Mint’s product page also displays a $540 twelve-month offer, equivalent to $45 per month, in its checkout panel. Because the page presents multiple offers and conditions, confirm the applicable price and renewal amount for your address and account before paying. Mint says a phone plan is not required, but having one changes the listed Home MINTernet price. See Mint’s current product and checkout information.
What speeds can you expect?
Mint says Home MINTernet download speeds are typically between 133 and 415 Mbps, with usual upload speeds between 12 and 55 Mbps. These are provider-reported ranges, not a promise for each household or an independent test result.
Because the connection is cellular, signal strength at the gateway, network congestion, gateway placement, and other network conditions can affect the speeds you receive. Mint’s Home MINTernet FAQ describes the service and its typical speeds.

Is the data unlimited?
Mint markets Home MINTernet as unlimited, but its network management policy includes a 1 TB threshold. If a customer uses more than 1 TB during a monthly cycle, Mint may prioritize that customer’s traffic below other traffic during congestion for the rest of the cycle. Mint says this can result in slower speeds. The policy concerns prioritization when the network is congested; it does not state that service automatically stops at 1 TB. Read Mint’s network management policy for its terms.
What equipment is included, and how do you set it up?
Mint says the package includes a 5G gateway that acts as modem and router, a power cord, and a quick-start guide. Some gateway models include a windowsill bracket. Mint describes setup as self-installation:
- Place the gateway where it can receive a cellular signal, following Mint’s placement guidance.
- Connect the included power cord and turn on the gateway.
- Join the Wi-Fi network using the details supplied with the gateway, then connect your devices.
Mint’s FAQ and setup information cover the included equipment and self-install process. The reviewed service details do not establish that a separate router, hotspot, antenna, or other networking product is required.

What restrictions should you check before signing up?
Mint’s terms list limits on certain uses, including using the service as a substitute or backup for private lines or dedicated data connections, operating server devices or host applications, and uploading, downloading, or streaming continuous video or audio. These are restrictions stated in Mint’s terms; read the applicable terms and conditions to determine whether your intended use is allowed.
How does it compare with T-Mobile Home Internet?
Mint and T-Mobile publish the same typical speed ranges for their respective home internet offerings: 133–415 Mbps down and 12–55 Mbps up. T-Mobile notes that actual speeds vary with location, time of day, signal strength, availability, and other factors. Similar published ranges do not establish identical service, eligibility, pricing, or performance at a particular address.
