Minisforum’s DeskMini UM270 was announced on February 5, 2021, with an introductory Makuake campaign price reported at ¥53,000. The Windows 10 Pro mini PC uses AMD’s Ryzen 7 PRO 2700U processor and integrated Radeon Vega 10 graphics. These are launch-era details, not confirmation that the UM270 is currently available.
When did the Minisforum UM270 launch?
ITmedia reported on February 5, 2021, that BESSTAR TECH, identified in contemporaneous coverage as the Minisforum brand owner, announced the UM270 and began offering it through Japan’s Makuake platform. ITmedia reported a starting campaign price of ¥53,000. The company’s announcement described the initial campaign as running from February 5 through February 27, 2021. That price was a launch promotion, not a current market price. ITmedia PC USER’s launch report and BESSTAR TECH’s product announcement provide the contemporaneous details.
PC Watch also described a 16 GB memory and 256 GB storage configuration. Because launch materials mention more than one storage option, specifications should be understood as applying to configurations rather than every UM270 sold. PC Watch’s 2021 report independently describes the system and its physical dimensions.
What are the UM270’s main specifications?
The company’s launch announcement specified a Windows 10 Pro configuration with a Ryzen 7 PRO 2700U, 16 GB of DDR4-2400 memory and a 256 GB SATA SSD. The announcement also described Radeon Vega 10 graphics at 1300 MHz. PC Watch reported a 512 GB storage option as well, so the 256 GB configuration was not the only one described at launch. What does the Ryzen 7 2700U offer?
AMD identifies the Ryzen 7 2700U as a Ryzen 2000-series Raven Ridge processor with four cores and eight threads, a 2.2 GHz base clock and boost frequency up to 3.8 GHz. AMD lists a default TDP of 15 W and Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics; the UM270 announcement calls its integrated graphics Radeon Vega 10. AMD lists Windows 10 64-bit among the processor’s supported operating systems. These are processor specifications, not a UM270 performance benchmark. Can you upgrade the UM270’s memory and storage?
The available launch specifications identify two SODIMM slots, an M.2 2280 SATA slot and a 2.5-inch SATA drive bay. These establish the listed expansion paths, but they do not establish reliable maximum memory or drive capacities: the announcement conflicts with itself about the 2.5-inch drive limit, and secondary reports differ on storage details. Check the exact unit’s documentation and installed parts before buying an upgrade; do not infer a supported maximum from the slot type alone.

Which drivers and downloads are available?
MINISFORUM’s UM Series archive lists a Windows 10 Home 1909 image dated July 20, 2020, a Windows 10 driver package dated August 21, 2020, a user guide dated July 13, 2021, and later Wi-Fi and Bluetooth files for Windows 10 and Windows 11. The archive is for the UM Series and does not identify every file as specific to every UM270 revision. Confirm that a download matches the machine and its hardware before installing it. MINISFORUM’s UM Series support archive contains the listed downloads.
For graphics, AMD recommends OEM-provided drivers customized and validated for system-specific features. AMD says to install OEM drivers if issues occur with drivers downloaded from AMD.com, to help ensure full support and compatibility. For a branded mini PC, start with the manufacturer’s applicable package when available. AMD’s processor page provides this driver guidance.
