Microsoft announced an Agenda view for Windows 11 that would put upcoming calendar events in chronological order inside Notification Center, with actions such as joining a scheduled meeting. The feature was initially expected in an Insider preview in December 2025, but Microsoft later pushed that preview to the “coming months.” As of October 4, 2026, the available updates do not confirm that Agenda view has reached preview or general availability.

What the planned Agenda view would do

Agenda view is intended to show upcoming events in Notification Center through the taskbar calendar experience. Microsoft’s description, quoted by Windows Central on November 19, 2025, calls it a “quick-glance, chronological list” and says users could interact with events—for example, by joining a scheduled meeting or engaging with Microsoft 365 Copilot.

This is a planned taskbar and Notification Center experience. The announcement does not establish that it is the old Windows Calendar app returning, or specify which calendar providers and accounts it will support.

Why it is a return to a Windows 10 convenience

Windows Central described Windows 11’s calendar flyout as having lost the upcoming-event information that Windows 10 users could see from the taskbar calendar. The announced change would restore that at-a-glance role: instead of only checking a date, users could scan what is coming up and potentially act on an event without first opening a separate calendar app.

The new experience should not be confused with the legacy Windows Mail, Calendar, and People apps. Microsoft says support for those apps ended on December 31, 2024, as noted on its Windows 11 specifications page. The available Agenda view announcement describes a Notification Center feature, not a revival of those apps.

Announcement timeline and what is confirmed

Date What was reported What it establishes
November 19, 2025 Windows Central reported Microsoft’s announcement, which planned an Insider preview for December 2025 and general availability in 2026. A planned schedule, not a release.
March 9, 2026 Windows Central reported that the preview had not appeared on the original timeline. An unnamed Microsoft spokesperson said the company was “actively refining the foundational aspects of the experience to ensure it meets our quality standards before it reaches customers.” Microsoft’s revised estimate was “the coming months,” without a firm date. The preview was delayed; Microsoft said the feature was not canceled.
September 2026 Microsoft’s Windows Insider update described taskbar improvements rolling out broadly, but did not identify Agenda view. The update does not confirm Agenda view availability.
September 22, 2026 The Windows 11 version 26H1 preview update detailed taskbar customization work but did not mention Agenda view. The update leaves the feature’s status unresolved.

The omission from those September updates does not prove Agenda view is absent from every device or test channel. It does mean the cited announcements do not establish that it has launched. No final Windows build, account or calendar-provider requirements, geographic availability, or rollout schedule is confirmed in these updates.

How to open Notification Center now

Windows 11 already offers several ways to open Notification Center, where the announced Agenda view is intended to appear. Microsoft Support documents these current entry points:

  • Select the taskbar clock or notification bell.
  • Press Windows key + N.
  • Swipe in from the side on a touch-enabled device.

These are ways to open the existing Notification Center; they do not mean Agenda view is available. Microsoft has also documented other notification-area changes, including a larger clock with seconds above the date and calendar, and opening Notification Center from a secondary monitor. Those interface changes are separate from confirmation of Agenda view. See Microsoft Support’s Notification Center instructions and the Windows Experience Blog update.

Calendar account support is still an open question

The available announcement does not specify which calendar services will populate Agenda view or whether a Microsoft 365 subscription will be required. In particular, it is not evidence that Google Calendar events will appear. The title of a surfaced Microsoft Community discussion, “Displaying Google Calendar Events on the Windows Taskbar Calendar,” reflects a question users ask, not a compatibility commitment; the discussion itself does not establish support.

Check Microsoft’s release notes or the Windows Insider announcement for the build you use before relying on the feature. Until Microsoft publishes final availability and account details, treat Agenda view as announced but unverified on your PC.
