Microsoft 365 Personal and Family were reported at sharply reduced prices during 2025, but the available figures do not establish a verified, year-wide lowest price for a standalone subscription. A December deal labeled the lowest of the year included NordVPN, so it was a bundle—not a like-for-like Microsoft 365 price. Here’s what the reported offers covered, how they compare with Microsoft’s US prices, and what to check before buying.
What Microsoft 365 deals were reported in 2025?
Two Windows Central reports capture notable offers, but they describe different retailers, dates, and deal formats. Neither is a complete survey of every seller throughout the year.
| Report | Personal | Family | What the prices covered |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows Central, July 11, 2025 | $64.99 for one year | $99.99 for one year | Offers reported through StackSocial. The article called Personal its best deal found; this is a reported offer, not an independently verified all-year low. Windows Central’s July report |
| Windows Central, updated December 1, 2025 | $45.99 for one year, with NordVPN Basic for one year | $89.99 for one year, with NordVPN Basic for one year | Newegg Cyber Monday bundles. The included VPN makes these bundle prices, not standalone Microsoft 365 prices. Windows Central described the bundle as its lowest-seen price in months and said both plans were at their lowest rates of the year. Windows Central’s December report |
The December headline claim is therefore best read as that publication’s assessment of the deal it reported—not as proof that a standalone Microsoft 365 subscription reached the lowest price offered by every retailer in 2025. The cited reports do not provide a complete price history or a like-for-like audit of bundled and unbundled offers.

How did the deals compare with Microsoft’s listed prices?
A November 23, 2025 capture of Microsoft’s US pricing page listed annual prices of $99.99 for Personal, $129.99 for Family, and $199.99 for Premium. That archived page also showed a limited-time first-year Premium price of $99.99. Those are the listed prices captured at that time, not evidence of what every buyer paid or of the full range of retailer offers. Archived Microsoft US plan and pricing page

The November 2025 page described Office apps with Copilot and security features across the plans. Microsoft currently says Family and Premium can be shared with up to five other people, for six users total; Personal is for one. If several people need separate accounts and storage, compare the total household cost with a single-person subscription rather than assuming that Family means one shared login. - Plan and user count: Verify whether the offer is Personal, Family, or Premium, and how many people can use it.
- What’s included: Look for a VPN or other bundled service. A bundle’s full price cannot be compared directly with a standalone Microsoft 365 code unless you account for the added product’s value.
- Term and renewal: Confirm that the offer covers 12 months, and determine what happens after that period. Microsoft says subscriptions renew automatically at the regular price unless canceled; check the specific retailer and checkout terms as well.
- Region and redemption: Confirm that the code or subscription can be redeemed in your country and with the Microsoft account you intend to use.
- Seller and delivery: A physical package may contain a product key. Microsoft also says a code purchased online may be sent by email or printed on the receipt. Follow the redemption and setup flow tied to your Microsoft account. Microsoft Support: Try or buy Microsoft 365
Can you avoid a Microsoft 365 subscription?
Microsoft identifies Office 2024 as a one-time purchase for one computer. Unlike a Microsoft 365 subscription, it does not receive feature upgrades to future major releases. It may suit someone who wants Office on a single computer without recurring subscription billing, but its device scope and update model differ from Microsoft 365.
