Meta acquired Limitless, the company behind the AI-powered Pendant, on December 5, 2025. Limitless said its team would join Meta to help advance AI-enabled wearables. For customers, the immediate changes are more concrete: the Pendant is no longer available to new buyers, support is promised through 2026, and some services and regions are being discontinued.
What did Meta acquire, and why?
Limitless made the Pendant, a small device that clipped to clothing or could be worn on a lanyard. It recorded conversations and used a companion app to provide transcripts and searchable summaries. Limitless announced the acquisition on December 5, 2025, saying its team would join Meta. Can you buy a new Pendant?
No. Limitless said it stopped selling the Pendant to new customers on December 5, 2025. TechCrunch reported that the device had been priced at $99 when it was offered for sale; that is a reported historical price, not a current offer. TechCrunch

How long will existing Pendant customers receive support?
Limitless said existing customers would receive free access to the Unlimited Plan and support throughout 2026. Its announcement also described support as continuing “at least another year”; the FAQ gives the more specific commitment of throughout 2026. Which regions are losing service, and what is the data deadline?
Limitless said service would no longer be available from December 5, 2025, in Brazil, China, the European Union, Israel, South Korea, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. Affected users were given until December 19, 2025, to download their data. Limitless said that after the deadline, accounts and associated information would be permanently deleted. How can customers export or delete their data?
Limitless’ Help Center says its export process covers transcripts, chats, and audio files. Larger exports may take 30–90 minutes; if a large export fails, the company suggests trying date ranges of one to two months. Its deletion guide says permanent account deletion removes associated data and cannot be undone. Check the company’s instructions before taking either action:

What is not yet known about the deal?
The sources reporting the acquisition did not disclose financial terms. TechCrunch reported that Limitless had raised more than $33 million, with a16z, First Round Capital, and NEA among its investors; that funding figure is not the acquisition price. TechCrunch
The announcements do not identify a Limitless-branded successor device, a launch date, or a detailed integration roadmap. Limitless said customers continuing to use its services would need to accept updated privacy terms, but the announcement alone does not establish what those terms change about data use.
