The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 is a flagship smartphone platform built around eight CPU cores: one Arm C1-Ultra, three C1-Premium and four C1-Pro. MediaTek calls this an “All Big Core” design, but the cores are not identical: they have different tiers and clock speeds. The company reports performance gains over its previous flagship generation; those figures are manufacturer claims, not independent test results.

What is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500?

It is a smartphone system-on-chip (SoC), also called a mobile platform—not a phone you can buy on its own. Its feature set extends beyond the CPU to graphics, on-device AI, storage, imaging and wireless connectivity. Phone makers decide which platform capabilities to implement and enable on each handset.

MediaTek announced the chipset in 2025. On September 22, 2025, OPPO said its upcoming Find X9 series would use it. OPPO also described its own Trinity Engine and customized cooling system for the series; those are handset-maker implementation details, not features guaranteed on every Dimensity 9500 phone. MediaTek’s launch announcement and OPPO’s announcement document those claims.

What does “All Big Core” mean?

The CPU has eight cores in three classes. MediaTek’s specification lists the following core counts and clock rates:

Future Call Picture Phone with Speakerphone FC-1007SP
  • 2-way speakerphone with 4-level volume control and big-dial keypad
  • Handset volume control; Receiver has volume gain +40dB; Hearing Aid compatible
  • Switch for 10 one-touch keys allows picture dialing only (great feature for people that can not dial numbers)
  • Bright red LED lights for incoming calls; in-use green LED Light
  • Red 911 Emergency Key - this number is backed up even if the unit is unplugged
CPU core Count Listed clock rate
Arm C1-Ultra 1 4.21 GHz
Arm C1-Premium 3 3.5 GHz
Arm C1-Pro 4 2.7 GHz

“All Big Core” describes the broad design approach: the listed CPU mix comprises Ultra, Premium and Pro performance-oriented core classes rather than a separate low-power efficiency-core tier. It does not mean all eight cores have the same speed or role. Workloads can use different cores depending on what they need, and the clock rate alone does not establish how fast a phone will feel in every task.

The platform specification also lists 16 MB of L3 cache, 10 MB of system-level cache, LPDDR5X 10667 memory and four-lane UFS 4.1 storage. See MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 specifications.

How much faster does MediaTek say it is?

MediaTek’s 2025 launch announcement compares the Dimensity 9500 with the previous generation. The figures below are the company’s reported results, not independently verified guarantees for every phone or workload.

These percentages describe MediaTek’s comparisons, not a prediction that every Dimensity 9500 phone will deliver those gains in daily use. The cited announcements do not provide an independent lab replication or enough test detail to generalize the figures across handset designs. Cooling, software, power limits and the task being run can all affect a particular phone’s behavior.

What else does the platform include?

MediaTek’s platform claims cover several components and capabilities beyond its CPU:

  • Graphics: An Arm G1-Ultra GPU, with support listed for Vulkan ray tracing and Unreal Engine 5.5+ capabilities.
  • AI: An NPU 990 and support for on-device AI features.
  • Storage: Four-lane UFS 4.1, which MediaTek associates with faster loading of large AI models.
  • Imaging: The launch announcement describes capture up to 200 MP and 4K 60 FPS portrait video. The specification page lists 4K120 video capture with stabilization.
  • Connectivity: Support listed for 5G Release 17, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth enhancements.

These are platform specifications or capabilities promoted by MediaTek. They do not guarantee that a phone will offer every mode, feature or connection option: manufacturers select components, tune software and set the camera modes enabled on each model. Check the exact handset’s specifications for what it actually supports.

Which phones use the Dimensity 9500?

OPPO announced that its Find X9 series would feature the Dimensity 9500. That establishes an announced phone-family association, but it does not establish current sales status, price or availability in every country. Confirm the exact model and local listing before making a purchase decision.

How should you compare Dimensity 9500 phones?

A chipset name is not enough to predict which phone is the better choice. Compare the specific handset and your intended use:

  • Sustained performance and heat: Look for tests of the actual phone over time, not just peak chipset figures. Cooling design and power limits affect sustained workloads.
  • Battery life: Prefer independent device tests that resemble your usage. Keep a chipset maker’s efficiency claim separate from a measured phone result.
  • Gaming: Check the games you play, graphics settings, available frame rates and stability over longer sessions. Ray-tracing support does not mean every game uses it, and cooling can affect consistency.
  • Camera and video: Verify the modes the phone maker enables, including resolution, frame rate and stabilization, rather than assuming every platform capability is available.
  • Ownership details: Compare regional availability, software support, memory and storage configurations, and the phone’s total price.

The cited MediaTek and OPPO announcements establish the platform’s advertised specifications and OPPO’s announced Find X9 relationship, but they do not provide independent head-to-head testing or current country-by-country sales information.
