MCP Developer Summit 2026 is a planned seven-city series of technical events for developers and practitioners building agentic AI systems with Model Context Protocol (MCP), not a single conference in one location. As of October 8, 2026, the Toronto edition has concluded and Nairobi is the next event listed, for November 19–20. The dates and schedule are subject to change; check the official event page before making plans.

What is MCP Developer Summit 2026?

The MCP Dev Summit is a series of developer gatherings focused on building and deploying systems that use Model Context Protocol. The organizer describes it as “a global series of technical gatherings for developers and practitioners building real-world agentic AI systems.” Its planned program covers protocol development, implementation practices, security, operations, and real-world deployments. The official Toronto event page gives that description; the Agentic AI Foundation and Linux Foundation prospectus outlines the series.

The audience is technical: developers, maintainers, and platform teams working on agent architecture and orchestration, infrastructure, security, and production operations. It is not one event with a single venue or date; each city edition has its own schedule.

When and where are the 2026 editions?

The 2026 prospectus lists seven city editions. The figures below are the organizer’s planned attendance capacities, not confirmed registrations or actual attendance. It also lists 40+ sessions and workshops for each edition as planned program scale. The prospectus does not establish actual attendance or provide a basis for ranking the editions by quality.

What happens at an MCP Dev Summit?

The program is intended to address practical development and deployment questions around MCP: how implementations are built, secured, operated, and used in real deployments. Toronto’s published focus areas make that practical emphasis concrete, especially for teams deploying MCP in enterprise or regulated settings.

Toronto’s enterprise focus

The Toronto event page highlights identity, authorization, auditability, gateways, registries, evaluation, and production reliability. These topics matter when organizations need to control which systems and users can access tools, keep records of activity, manage MCP infrastructure, and assess whether deployments work reliably. The focus areas are those published by the Toronto organizers; they should not be taken as a description of every session in every city.

Toronto’s published schedule

The Toronto schedule listed Den Delimarsky’s keynote, “MCP As The Agentic Substrate,” and a TELUS presentation, “One Year of MCP in the Enterprise: Registry, Workflows, Agents, and Remote Hosting,” by Kevin Ng and Dana Harrison. These were scheduled program items, not independently verified reports of what was delivered. The schedule used EDT (UTC−4), said seating was first come, first served, and required registration to attend sessions; it also warned that times and rooms could change. Since the event took place October 5–6, 2026, the published schedule is useful as a record of its listed program, not as a current way to plan attendance.

How does the summit relate to MCP’s 2026 roadmap?

The MCP project’s March 9, 2026 roadmap identifies four priorities: transport evolution and scalability, agent communication, governance maturation, and enterprise readiness. It describes production challenges including stateful sessions and horizontal scaling for remote transports, task retries and expiry, capacity to review proposals, and enterprise requirements such as audit trails, SSO-integrated authentication, gateway behavior, and configuration portability. The roadmap says Working and Interest Groups are the primary vehicle for protocol development and notes that enterprise readiness is the least defined priority. These are roadmap themes, not evidence that every summit edition or session covered them. See the MCP project’s March 9 roadmap.

What if you missed the New York edition?

The North America edition in New York took place April 2–3, 2026, and its official page marks it as passed. That page directs visitors to session recordings and presentations, making it the relevant follow-up for people who could not attend. Visit the official New York event page for those materials.
