Who is Phoenix Cyclops in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls?
Phoenix Cyclops is Scott Summers, voiced by Ray Chase, joining the game as a Year 1 addition. Producer Takeshi Yamanaka says this version draws on Cyclops’s Phoenix Five incarnation from Avengers vs. X-Men. The official PlayStation announcement identifies him as the first additional character revealed for Year 1.

What abilities does the reveal confirm?
PlayStation names Cyclops’s Optic Blasts and hand-to-hand combat abilities, augmented by the Phoenix Force. These are the abilities established by the announcement; it does not provide a confirmed move list, combos, frame data, or combat strategy.
What does the trailer reveal about gameplay?
The announcement does not explain how Cyclops’s powers are implemented mechanically. Yamanaka wrote: “We’ll have more to share about how these abilities are incorporated into his gameplay, so please stay tuned for future updates on his fighting style.” So the reveal establishes the character’s theme and broad capabilities, not a full gameplay breakdown.

When does Phoenix Cyclops arrive, and what is the Year 1 pass?
The official PlayStation video listing describes Phoenix Cyclops as the first DLC character in the Year 1 Character & Stage Pass and gives a Fall 2026 release window. PlayStation’s announcement confirms the Year 1 addition but does not give an exact character release date.
How does the character fit into the game?
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 tag-team fighting game developed by Arc System Works, PlayStation Studios, and Marvel Games. The official PlayStation game page lists it for PS5 and PC and says it launched August 6, 2026, with launches on August 7 in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and Korea.
