Its fit depends on whether your apps and operating system are supported—and whether you can obtain a unit now that Loupedeck ended product-line sales in March 2025. The specifications and setup details below come from Loupedeck’s documentation; they are not independent hands-on test results.
What the Loupedeck Live S does
Live S is a USB-connected console intended to put frequently used software controls within reach. Loupedeck lists 15 touch-sensitive buttons with haptic feedback, two analog dials and four tactile buttons for switching layouts. The touch area supports up to 14 additional pages, reached by swiping. You can configure custom actions, macros, toggles, dial adjustments and profiles, according to the manufacturer.
That layout offers several kinds of control in a small footprint: buttons for discrete commands such as switching scenes or muting, dials for adjustable values such as audio levels, and pages for organizing more actions than fit on the first screen. How useful that is in practice depends on the software integrations you need and how you choose to arrange them.
Loupedeck lists the unit at 168 g and 150 × 85.5 × 30 mm. These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from an independent review. See the Live S product specifications.

Who it suits—and what to check before buying
A good workflow fit
Live S is worth considering if you want physical controls for actions in supported streaming, creative or productivity applications, and you are comfortable building a custom layout. Loupedeck positions it for scene and source switching, audio adjustment and muting, lighting control, and commands in creative apps. The manufacturer’s product owner described its intended benefit as replacing awkward mouse adjustments with controls available at hand; that is promotional commentary, not independent evidence of speed or convenience.
Compatibility is the deciding factor
Loupedeck lists integrations including OBS, Twitch, Streamlabs Desktop (Windows), Voicemod (Windows), vMix, Ecamm, Philips Hue, Spotify Premium, and applications from Adobe, Final Cut Pro, Capture One and Ableton. This list is not a promise that every integration works on every operating system or software version. Check the current product listing and system requirements, then confirm that your exact application, operating system and desired plugin or action are supported before buying.

The listed minimum operating systems are Windows 10 or later and macOS 10.15 or later. The product listing also specifies internet access to download Loupedeck software and a USB-C or USB-A connection. In the box, Loupedeck lists a two-metre USB-C cable with USB-A adapter, a detachable stand set at 35 degrees, and quick-start and legal guides.
Related model: Loupedeck Live
The larger Loupedeck Live is a different product, not a Live S variant. Its official page lists six analog dials, eight tactile buttons, two touch bars and 12 touch-sensitive buttons. That is a meaningful layout difference if you prefer more dials or a different balance of physical and touch controls; the available official sources do not establish current comparative prices or availability.

Availability, sales and software support
On March 28, 2025, Loupedeck announced it would stop selling its product line and focus on the Logitech MX Creative Console and its ecosystem. The company said remaining Loupedeck inventory would continue through authorized retailers while supplies lasted. Its product page’s “On sale” wording does not confirm current retailer stock, so check the seller, condition and return terms at the time you shop. Loupedeck said warranty claims and technical support would continue as usual at the time of that announcement; this should not be read as a guarantee of present coverage or future support. The company also said owners would be able to use future software updates and plugins developed for Creative Console through the shared backend introduced in software release 6.0. Read the dated sales and development announcement.
A separate notice matters if a setup relies on older software. On March 26, 2026, Loupedeck announced that support for legacy software 5.8 and its marketplace would end effective March 30, 2026 because required cloud services were unavailable. Users on 5.8 could no longer download and install new plugins from that legacy marketplace; Loupedeck urged them to upgrade to version 6.2.4. This notice concerns legacy software and marketplace access, not the 2025 hardware-sales announcement. Check the legacy 5.8 announcement and current official downloads before following older plugin instructions.

How do I set up Loupedeck Live S with OBS?
Loupedeck’s OBS support article gives version-specific guidance: OBS Studio 28.0 or newer should be paired with Loupedeck software 5.3, while OBS 27 or earlier should use compatible Loupedeck 5.2 software. Those pairings are what the article documents, not universal current recommendations. Since Loupedeck later urged users to move from legacy 5.8 to 6.2.4, verify current compatibility and download guidance before installing or changing versions.
- Check compatibility first. Confirm your OBS version, operating system and the Loupedeck software version supported by current official guidance. The older pairings above are documented in the OBS setup article.
- Install and connect. Install the appropriate Loupedeck software, then connect Live S to a supported USB-C or USB-A port. Allow the software and OBS to run so the integration can connect.
- Assign controls. In Loupedeck’s action panel, drag an OBS action onto the desired dial or button. Some actions require additional configuration; follow the action’s setup prompts rather than assuming every assignment is ready immediately.
- Test before relying on it live. Check each mapped button, dial and layout in OBS, including the scene or source it changes and any audio adjustment. This is a practical setup check, not a manufacturer performance claim.
OBS connection troubleshooting
- A red dot appears on the OBS icon: Open OBS. Loupedeck’s support article says the application should be running for the integration.
- The red dot remains while OBS is open: Restart Loupedeck software, as the article recommends.
- Actions or mappings do not behave as expected: Recheck the OBS and Loupedeck version pairing, confirm any action-specific setup is complete, and consult current compatibility guidance before reverting to an older build.
Setting up Streamlabs Desktop
Loupedeck’s Streamlabs instructions describe a workflow specific to software 5.8. They say to assign actions by dragging them from the action panel to a dial or button. Streamlabs Desktop must run in the background for dynamic scene and source folders to appear and sync. The article describes a yellow connection indicator for its newer plugin and a red indicator for older plugin versions.

Because Loupedeck later announced the end of support for legacy 5.8 and its marketplace effective March 30, 2026, do not assume this older workflow or its plugins remain available. Confirm your installed build and the current plugin path before relying on the Streamlabs setup article. If you cannot obtain a compatible plugin through the supported route, the 5.8-specific steps will not resolve that availability problem.
What this review can—and cannot—establish
The official sources establish the control layout, stated integrations, system requirements and documented setup guidance. They do not provide an independent test of responsiveness, reliability, build quality, ease of setup or comparative value, nor do they establish adoption or market-performance statistics. Treat software capabilities as manufacturer-described features and check the compatibility and support status for your own setup. A firsthand assessment would require testing a unit with the reader’s specific applications and versions.
