It is intended for accent lighting around trees, walls, and garden features—not as a substitute for downward-facing pathway lights. Linkind’s published specifications are useful for identifying the model, but its own pages disagree on some details, so check the current product packaging or manual before relying on them.
What the Linkind SL5 offers
Linkind’s catalog identifies the product as the SL5 Smart Outdoor Solar Spotlight with Motion Sensor. In Linkind’s product comparison, the SL5 is listed as solar-powered, with 150 lumens, 28 light sources, RGB plus tunable-white lighting, 3.7 volts, 3 watts, and a one-year warranty. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results.
Linkind’s other product guide describes the SL5 as approximately 120 lumens, however, so the brand’s published pages are inconsistent about brightness. If that figure matters for a specific installation, verify it against the current packaging or product documentation rather than treating either figure as an independently confirmed measurement.
SL5 versus SL5C: check the model suffix
The SL5 and SL5C are separate products, not alternate names for the same spotlight. Their feature differences matter when choosing a light or checking a retailer listing.

Linkind’s comparison table lists the SL5’s ingress rating as IP67, while its buying guide lists IP65. Because those manufacturer pages conflict, don’t assume a particular rating without checking the current SL5 packaging or manual. The SL5C page’s MPPT feature and “up to 14 hours” marketing claim apply to that model; they should not be attributed to the SL5.
How smart control and setup work
AiDot’s setup instructions for the SL5 and SL5C require Bluetooth enabled on the phone and the phone to be close to the light during pairing. Linkind also describes nearby Bluetooth control through the AiDot app for specified products. Its FAQ says Wi-Fi is needed for remote access or voice control for the models named there, but does not establish a universal SL5-specific requirement for every voice-control configuration.

Linkind’s guide describes app control, music sync, and group control across its smart-light range. It says group control supports up to eight groups of 32 lights each. These are manufacturer-described app features; check the current AiDot app documentation and the exact SL5 setup instructions for supported functions and any network requirements.

A spotlight directs light toward a feature, so Linkind recommends this type of product for accenting trees, walls, and other garden details. Pathway lights serve a different purpose: they direct light downward along walkways. Choose based on what you need illuminated rather than treating the two formats as interchangeable. Linkind’s placement guidance is not an independent photometric assessment of coverage or brightness.

What to verify before ordering
- Model: Confirm the listing says SL5 and includes the motion sensor; do not substitute SL5C based on a similar product name.
- Weather rating: Linkind lists conflicting IP65 and IP67 ratings for the SL5. Confirm the rating on the current product documentation.
- Brightness: Linkind’s comparison table says 150 lumens, while its guide says approximately 120. Treat the difference as unresolved.
- App and network needs: Check whether the control features you want require Bluetooth proximity, Wi-Fi, or a compatible voice-control setup.
