Liberty running back Peyton Jones scored on a 3-yard run with 39 seconds left in the second quarter of the Flames’ 30–14 win over Delaware on October 2, 2026, in Newark, Delaware.
How Jones’s touchdown unfolded
Liberty University Athletics’ official box score records the play at 00:39 in the second quarter: “Jones,Peyton 3 yd run (Reeves,Chase kick), 12 plays, 98 yards, TOP 03:01.” The scoring drive covered 98 yards over 12 plays and took 3 minutes, 1 second. Who is Peyton Jones?
Liberty’s roster lists Jones as a running back wearing No. 7 and identifies him as a transfer from Duke. It records his Duke career at 112 carries for 422 yards and five rushing touchdowns; those figures are from his time at Duke, not his Liberty totals. Liberty roster
