For most buyers, the 2026 LG C6 is the stronger pick if its same-size price premium is manageable. It measured much brighter in one published comparison and supports up to 4K/165Hz for compatible PCs. Choose the B6 if it costs meaningfully less, you mostly watch in a dim room, and 4K/120Hz is enough. Compare the exact size and current local prices before deciding: C6 hardware varies by screen size.

How much better is the C6’s picture?
Brightness is the clearest measured difference. In Tom’s Guide’s 2026 comparison, the tested C6 reached 1,355 nits HDR at a 10% window, compared with 780 nits for the tested B6. Its SDR result was 355 nits versus 247 nits. A brighter picture can make HDR highlights more striking and help content remain easier to see in a bright room with glare. RTINGS likewise says the C6 can overcome more glare and make bright sports and other content easier to see.
Those numbers describe specific review samples and test conditions; they should not be treated as a promise that every C6 is brighter by the same amount than every B6. Screen size and C6 panel configuration matter. For a mostly dark room, the B6 still offers OLED’s deep black levels, so the C6’s brightness advantage may not justify a large price difference for your use.

Which one is better for gaming?
For consoles: the B6 is already capable
The B6 supports up to 4K/120Hz and variable refresh rate (VRR), with four HDMI 2.1 inputs listed for both models. That covers the 4K/120Hz console output discussed in the comparison. RTINGS also reports support for common VRR systems and Dolby Vision gaming on Xbox. The C6 can handle this kind of play too, but its higher refresh ceiling is not a practical advantage if your console and games top out at 120Hz.
For a high-frame-rate PC: the C6 has more headroom
The C6 supports up to 4K/165Hz VRR when paired with a PC capable of supplying that refresh rate. The difference matters chiefly if your PC can render above 120 frames per second and you want the display to show those additional frames. If your hardware or games do not reach that range, the higher ceiling alone is unlikely to settle the purchase.

Check the C6’s exact screen size before buying
“C6” does not mean identical panel hardware at every size. RTINGS tested the 65-inch C6 and says its results apply to the 55-inch model, while noting that the 42-inch version lacks Brightness Booster and the 48-inch version uses a tandem panel. What Hi-Fi? reports that the 77- and 83-inch variants use Primary RGB Tandem OLED. These differences mean a review of one size may not describe another size’s hardware or performance.
RTINGS tested the 65-inch B6 and says its results apply to the 48-, 55-, 77-, and 83-inch models. Before ordering either TV, confirm the precise size and model code for your market, especially outside the US. The 2026 B6 is not the older 2016 B6: RTINGS identifies the 2026 set it tested as B6GUA and notes that the 2016 model is B6PUA.

Compare prices for the same size and market
Use current retailer prices for the exact screen size and country you plan to buy in. Historical launch figures are useful context, not a current price quote: LG’s March 5, 2026 US announcement set the C6’s starting MSRP at $1,399. TechRadar’s 2026 review listed US launch prices of $1,999 for a 65-inch B6 and $2,699 for a 65-inch C6. These figures reflect different price bases—the C6 amount is a 65-inch review-time launch price, while LG’s figure is the series starting MSRP—so they are not a like-for-like current comparison. TechRadar also listed launch prices of £2,399 and AU$3,295 for the B6, and £2,599 and AU$3,995 for the C6; What Hi-Fi? separately reported C6 launch prices of £2,500 and AU$3,999. Regional listings and published launch prices can differ.
For a useful decision, calculate the price gap between the same size of B6 and C6 at the retailer you would actually use. If the gap is small, the C6’s measured brightness advantage and optional PC refresh headroom strengthen its case. If the B6 is substantially cheaper and your room is usually dim, its 120Hz gaming support and OLED contrast may be the better value. LG’s March 2026 C6 announcement covers the US launch details; it does not establish today’s selling price.
Quick Recap
Which TV should you buy?
- Choose the C6 if you watch in a brighter room, value stronger HDR highlights, or have a PC that can make use of refresh rates above 120Hz—and the price premium for your exact size is acceptable.
- Choose the B6 if it is meaningfully cheaper, your viewing is mostly in a darker room, and you do not need more than 4K/120Hz.
- Check the model and size carefully if you are considering a C6 other than 55 or 65 inches, because the series includes size-dependent panel and feature differences.
