Lenovo’s “Sapphire” appears to be a real premium ChromeOS detachable in development, and the latest reported feature to strengthen its high-end credentials is a fingerprint reader built into the power button. Reporting also points to a 13-inch-class display and a MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor. Lenovo has not confirmed a final retail specification, price, or release date in the reporting available through July 31, 2026.
What is Lenovo Sapphire?
Sapphire is the development codename used in reporting for a Lenovo-built ChromeOS tablet with a detachable form factor. Later clues connect it with Lenovo’s Duet line: HelenTech reported that Lenovo’s site listed “Lenovo Duet 13M9611” under “Aluminium Premium,” then reported a Bluetooth SIG entry using the name “Lenovo Googlebook Duet m (13″, 11).” Those clues support a likely product identity, but they are not a formal Lenovo launch announcement. Chrome Unboxed’s January 24, 2026 report, HelenTech’s July 15 report, and its July 17 certification report describe the development and naming evidence.
Is the Lenovo Sapphire Chromebook tablet real?
Development reporting, Lenovo model-name clues, and a Bluetooth SIG certification listing point to a genuine device project rather than a speculative product name. What remains unconfirmed is the consumer product’s final name, launch configuration, and retail availability. Treat “Sapphire” and the reported Duet naming as identifiers used in development and reporting, not as proof of a product already on sale.
What high-end features have been reported?
Fingerprint reader in the power button
The feature behind the “checked another box” description is a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button. Chrome Unboxed reported seeing it in development evidence. Lenovo has not confirmed that it will appear on the consumer model, so it should be regarded as a reported feature rather than a guaranteed specification.

Magnetically attached stylus with wireless charging
Development evidence also reportedly shows a magnetic stylus that charges wirelessly. That does not establish whether a stylus will be included in the retail package, sold separately, or retained in the final design.
Four-color light bar
A four-color light bar is another reported design detail. Its purpose and final availability have not been established in Lenovo’s consumer specifications.

How big is the Lenovo Sapphire display?
Reporting interprets a BOE panel identifier as pointing to a 13-inch-class display. The exact screen size and retail panel specifications—including resolution, refresh rate, brightness, panel type, and color gamut—have not been established in the sources available through July 2026. The “13-inch” description is therefore a useful size class, not a complete display specification.
What processor will the Lenovo Sapphire tablet use?
The project is reported to use MediaTek’s Kompanio Ultra 910. No Sapphire-specific benchmark results or measured battery-life figures are available in the cited reports, so the processor name alone cannot establish how fast the tablet will feel or how long it will last between charges.
