Lenovo said in September 2025 that Legion Go Gen 2 preorders had substantially exceeded its projections, extending delivery estimates. The company said it would cancel some orders placed directly through Lenovo.com rather than keep customers’ money for devices it could not ship promptly. It did not say that all orders—or retailer orders—were cancelled.
Why did Lenovo cancel some Legion Go 2 preorders?
Lenovo attributed the delays to demand being higher than expected. In a Reddit AMA statement quoted by HotHardware on September 20, 2025, the company said: “The truth is preorders for the Legion Go Gen 2 has substantially exceeded our projections, leading to unforeseen delivery range extensions.” Lenovo did not disclose how many preorders it received or quantify how far demand exceeded its forecast.
Lenovo separately explained its decision to cancel some direct-store orders: “We don’t believe in holding onto customer payments for products we can’t ship in a timely manner.” The statement described the company’s rationale at the time; it did not give a count of cancelled orders.
Were all orders cancelled?
No. Lenovo said it would cancel some preorders placed directly on Lenovo.com. Its statement did not say that all direct orders were cancelled, and it did not announce cancellation of retailer orders. Customers with an order should rely on the notice and order status from the seller they used rather than assume their order was affected.

What did Lenovo say about retail stock and Lenovo.com ordering?
Lenovo said additional units were on their way to major retailers and expected retail availability to improve in the coming weeks. It also said Lenovo.com ordering would resume after its online inventory was replenished: “As soon as our online inventory is replenished, Lenovo.com will show updated availability and ordering will reopen.” These were forward-looking statements made in September 2025, not confirmation of current availability.
Is the Legion Go 2 available now?
The September 2025 announcement does not establish current stock, pricing, or orderability. Availability can vary by country and seller, so check Lenovo’s regional store and local retailers directly for present listings. A recent community discussion includes mixed user reports, but those anecdotes do not establish that Lenovo has discontinued the device or confirm official availability.

At the time of HotHardware’s September 2025 report, release timing remained unclear. The article noted UK customer estimates that had moved from September 16 to October 24, and US Best Buy listings showing October 31. These are historical observations from that report, not current delivery dates.

HotHardware reported the same display specifications for both: an 8.8-inch 1920×1200 PureSight OLED panel, 144Hz refresh rate, 500-nit brightness, VRR, and VESA True Black 1000 certification. The report supplied no benchmark results, so these configuration details alone do not establish comparative gaming performance.
