The event was scheduled for October 31–November 2, 2025, in Pasadena, California, so neither the proposal deadline nor the event is current.
What Hackaday’s “last chance” meant
In a July 3, 2025 announcement, Hackaday said its Supercon schedule was nearly full but still had room for proposed 20-minute and 40-minute talks. The deadline extension gave prospective speakers one extra week to submit. Elliot Williams, the announcement’s author, wrote, “We have an almost full schedule, but we’re still missing your talk.” Read the July 3 announcement.
The invitation explicitly welcomed both newcomers and longtime Hackaday contributors. Williams wrote, “We love to have a mix of newcomers as well as longtime Hackaday friends, so don’t be shy.” Hackaday did not publish selection criteria, proposal instructions, or an evaluation rubric in that announcement, so it does not establish what made a proposal more likely to be accepted.
Talk lengths and who the call addressed

When and where the 2025 event was planned
Hackaday announced Supercon for October 31 through November 2, 2025, in Pasadena, California. The organizer described the event as a gathering for the Hackaday community featuring talks, food, badge hacking, workshops, and demos. That is Hackaday’s promotional description, not an independent assessment or a verified attendance count. See Hackaday’s May 22 event announcement.
A later Hackaday post listed workshops in embedded Rust, KiCad-based board-game design, Tiny Tapeout ASIC design, and generative LED-matrix art. Those examples show the range of the later published program; they were not details of the July 3 speaker-deadline announcement. See the September 23 workshop post.

What presenters and ticket buyers were told
Hackaday said presenters would receive free admission. A later August 5, 2025 post listed 100 True-Believer tickets at $148 plus fees and regular admission at $296 plus fees.
