KubeDay Singapore was a regional cloud-native event held on 12 December 2023. It has passed, but the official event page links to session recordings and some speaker-provided slides. The CNCF post-event report says 251 people attended in person, and names popular sessions on distributed systems, Prometheus, tracing, Kubernetes security and tools.

What was KubeDay Singapore?

KubeDay Singapore was an educational gathering for cloud-native practitioners, adopters and developers, bringing local and international speakers together. The official KubeDay Singapore event page describes the KubeDay series as connecting experts in global cities to promote face-to-face collaboration and educational experiences. It says the event format included beginner and advanced tracks, with roughly half of speakers from outside the region and half local.

The event took place in Singapore on 12 December 2023. The official page now marks it as passed, so its registration information is historical rather than current guidance.

How many people attended?

In its 2023 event report, the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) recorded 308 in-person registrations and 251 in-person attendees. The report also gave an overall experience survey result of 4.2 out of 5. It does not state the number of survey responses in the retrieved report text, so that score should not be read as a rating submitted by every attendee.

What topics did the program cover?

The CNCF post-event report identifies these as among the most popular sessions on the schedule. They illustrate the range of the program, rather than a complete agenda or a ranked list:

  • Distributed systems: “Multi-Region, Multi-Primary, and Eventually Consistent? You’re Crazy,” by Bryan Oliver of Thoughtworks.
  • Metrics and monitoring: “Handling Billions of Metrics with Prometheus and Thanos,” by Ravi Hari and Amit Auddy of Intuit.
  • Tracing: “Distributed Tracing Integration with OpenTelemetry and Knative,” by Kevin Dubois of Red Hat.
  • Kubernetes security: “Kubernetes Security: Navigating the Real-World Challenges,” by Anusha Hegde of Nirmata.
  • Kubernetes tooling: “Expanding Your Kubernetes Arsenal: Essential Tools and Utilities,” by Prerit Munjal of Whizlabs.

Where can you watch the talks or find slides?

Start at the official KubeDay Singapore page, which links to session recordings on the CNCF YouTube channel and to slides made available through the event schedule. The recordings and slides are hosted externally, so access and availability may change.
