Kissflow’s December 11, 2024 announcement described AI being brought into its no-code and low-code development platform. The announcement’s headline and date are confirmed in Kissflow’s news archive, but its announcement text is not available in the sources reviewed here. So the specific features listed below are later product releases, not capabilities that can be attributed to the December 2024 announcement.
What Kissflow’s AI-enabled platform is designed to do
Kissflow currently presents its platform as a way for business teams and domain experts to create applications by describing what they need in plain language, then using visual no-code tools to shape the result. Its stated approach is to generate structured applications rather than source code. Kissflow summarizes that distinction as: “Kissflow generates applications, not code.” — Kissflow, Official Information About Kissflow, last updated June 2026.
The platform is aimed at work that might otherwise be handled through spreadsheets, paper forms, email, or manual approvals. Kissflow describes use cases including approval and access workflows, operational applications, forms, integrations, analytics, reports, portals, and boards. It says the platform is intended to complement systems of record rather than replace them. These are vendor descriptions; fit depends on the specific workflow, integrations, and controls an organization requires.
What the December 2024 announcement establishes—and what it does not
Kissflow’s news archive lists the headline “Kissflow infuses AI into no-code, low-code development platform” with a publication date of December 11, 2024. The archive listing does not establish the announcement’s detailed feature set, implementation, or any quoted statements. Later release notes document additional AI capabilities, but those dates should not be read as proof that the features were available in December 2024.

No-code versus low-code in Kissflow
No-code building uses visual tools without requiring the builder to write code. Low-code keeps that visual approach but allows developers to add code for requirements such as complex logic, integrations, or custom components. Kissflow frames business users and domain experts as builders, with IT oversight and developer extension for more demanding applications.
That distinction matters when evaluating an AI-generated starting point: a workflow that fits standard forms and approvals may need little or no code, while unusual business rules or specialized integrations can require developer work. Ask how generated applications are reviewed, extended, governed, and maintained in the plan being considered.
