Goofy equips shields in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. His options range from early shop purchases to synthesis weapons, enemy drops, tournament rewards, and Final Mix’s Mushroom XIII prizes. The table below compares each shield’s Strength, Magic, ability, and acquisition route; the stats and routes are from the community-maintained KHII weapons reference. The Final Mix edition is included in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, as identified in its official manual.
Goofy shield locations and stats

Which shield should you choose?
For straightforward progression
Shop shields provide clear, purchasable upgrades as shops become available. Dreamcloud offers +4 Strength and is described in its item entry as an attack-focused shield. The shop route and price are useful when you want a known acquisition rather than a random drop.
For recovery and survivability
Mushroom XIII shields add damage absorption through their Protect abilities. In Final Mix, Majestic Mushroom’s Protect absorbs 10% of damage taken; its entry lists a 25% drop chance at rank C and 85% at rank B. Majestic Mushroom+ has Protectra, absorbs 20% of damage taken, and is listed at a 15% chance at rank B and 90% at rank A. Its reward list excludes Mushroom XIII No. 4. These rank rates and effects are recorded in the Majestic Mushroom reference. Ultimate Mushroom has +9 Strength and Protectga, placing it above those two in listed Strength and protection tier; the available table does not specify its damage-absorption percentage.

For ability or stat priorities
Compare the Strength bonus with the ability you want rather than choosing on Strength alone. For example, Genji Shield grants Hyper Healing in Final Mix; the original KHII version instead lists Lucky Lucky. The Final Mix weapon table also distinguishes MP Haste, MP Hastera, and MP Hastega on the Akashic Record and Frozen Pride lines.
Synthesis requirements for Save the King
Save the King provides +9 Strength and Item Boost. Its listed recipe requires a King Recipe and these materials: 1 Orichalcum, 3 Twilight Crystals, 5 Twilight Gems, 7 Twilight Stones, and 9 Twilight Shards. Save the King+ uses a Serenity Crystal modifier and grants Damage Control. The requirements and weapon details are given in the Save the King reference.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to use the acquisition routes
- Shops: Munny purchases are predictable, but depend on the named shop becoming available.
- Enemy drops: Akashic Record, Akashic Record+, and Nobody Guard each have a listed 1% drop chance from their specified enemy, so obtaining one may require repeated encounters.
- Titan Cup: Genji Shield is the completion reward listed for the cup.
- Synthesis: Frozen Pride and the Save the King variants require synthesis; use the item entries for their respective recipe details.
- Mushroom XIII: The eligible member and rank matter; a successful challenge does not imply a guaranteed drop.
Because routes, abilities, and priorities differ, there is no single best shield for every point in the game. The full shield reference is the source for the listed stats and routes; those values describe the Final Mix set rather than the original KHII ability list.
