A user-posted Prime Big Deal Days roundup reports the Kindle Colorsoft at $189.99, but that price has not been confirmed on Amazon’s live listing. The report also does not identify the model year or configuration, so check the listing before treating this as a verified offer. Amazon’s event runs October 6–7, 2026, and prices, stock, and eligibility can change.
What the reported Kindle Colorsoft deal includes
The reported $189.99 price comes from a 2026 user-posted deal roundup, not an Amazon product page. The post does not establish whether the item is the original 16 GB Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition, a refreshed 2026 model, or a bundle. You can see the report here; it is evidence of a reported offer, not proof that Amazon currently has that price or stock.
Amazon scheduled Prime Big Deal Days for October 6–7, 2026, and describes the event’s offers as member-exclusive. Its event materials also mention a Kindle Colorsoft Essentials Bundle. If the listing you find is a bundle, check its contents and total price rather than treating it as the standalone reader price. Amazon’s event information is here.
How to verify the listing before buying
- Open Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft product listing and confirm the displayed price and availability at the time you shop.
- Check the product title and details for the model year, storage capacity, and whether the item is the reader alone or an Essentials Bundle.
- Review the final checkout total and any Prime membership requirement; event eligibility and stock may change during the sale.
Amazon announced a refreshed Kindle lineup in October 2026, shortly before this event. Since the deal report does not identify a generation, don’t assume the reported price applies to the refreshed model—or to the earlier one—without checking the listing.
#1 Best Overall
- Read in color – The 7" Colorsoft display is high-contrast and easy on the eyes, with paper-like color that brings covers and content to life.
- A brand-new experience – The Kindle Colorsoft display is optimized for reading in color and is different from the Kindle Paperwhite display, which is optimized for black and white reading.
- Color your pages – Highlight your favorite scenes in yellow, orange, blue, and pink.
- Marathon reading – A single charge via USB-C lasts up to 8 weeks.
- Read in any light – Adjust the display from white to amber to read in bright sunlight or in the dark.
Is a Colorsoft worth considering at $190?
The main reason to choose a Colorsoft over a black-and-white Kindle is the ability to read content in color. Whether that is worth the extra spend depends on how often you read books, comics, or other material where color matters. Compare the specific model, storage, standalone-versus-bundle price, and sale eligibility before deciding; the reported offer alone does not establish which configuration Amazon is selling.
For context, Amazon introduced the original Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition in 2024 at a preorder price of $279.99. That is a historical launch price, not evidence of the current regular price. Amazon’s announcement is here.
