The biggest difference is compatibility: Kindle Click is intended for Kindle eReaders launched in 2024 or later, while Kobo Remote is for supported Bluetooth-enabled Kobo models. If you own a compatible reader, both let you turn pages without touching its screen. After compatibility, the main choice is between Kindle’s brightness and sleep controls with USB-C charging and Kobo’s audiobook skips, published 20 m range, and replaceable AAA battery.
Which eReaders do the remotes work with?
Check your exact eReader model before comparing features. Bluetooth support by itself does not establish that a remote will work across brands, and the official product information reviewed does not claim cross-brand compatibility.
Kindle Click
Amazon lists Kindle Click for Kindle devices launched in 2024 or later. It specifically says the remote is not compatible with earlier devices, including the 2022 Kindle and 11th-generation Kindle Paperwhite. See Amazon’s Kindle Click listing for the compatibility details.
Kobo Remote
Kobo says its remote works with Bluetooth-enabled Kobo eReaders. Its named supported models are Clara 2E, Clara BW, Clara Colour, Libra 2, Libra Colour, Sage, Elipsa, and Elipsa 2E. Check Kobo’s Kobo Remote FAQ against your reader’s model before buying.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. - Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What can you control with each remote?
Both provide forward and backward page navigation, so their basic purpose is the same: turn pages from a distance rather than tapping the eReader screen.
| Feature | Kindle Click | Kobo Remote |
|---|---|---|
| Page navigation | Forward and back buttons; Amazon says users can choose which page button moves forward. | Large forward button and smaller back button. |
| Other documented controls | Side buttons adjust brightness; press both to put the Kindle to sleep. | During audiobook playback, buttons can skip 30 seconds forward or backward. |
| Connection and range | Bluetooth pairing; no comparable range figure is stated in the reviewed listing. | Bluetooth 5.0; Kobo specifies a range of up to 20 m. |
These details come from the manufacturers’ product information and support materials, not a head-to-head test. Kobo’s published range figure is not evidence that Kindle Click has a shorter range; Amazon’s listing simply does not provide a comparable number.

How do their batteries differ?
Kindle Click is rechargeable over USB-C. Amazon describes its battery life as weeks per charge; the cable and adapter are sold separately. Kobo Remote uses one replaceable AAA battery, which Kobo says can last months of daily reading depending on use; Kobo lists a battery in the box. Those durations are vendor claims with different wording, not like-for-like measurements.
The practical distinction is whether you prefer to recharge a built-in battery or replace a standard cell. Neither approach establishes which remote lasts longer in comparable real-world use.

Are they different in size, comfort, or handling?
Kobo specifies a 20-degree bend and weights of 35.2 g for the black model and 36 g for the white model. It describes the shape as ergonomic. Amazon describes Kindle Click as lightweight and shaped to rest naturally in either hand. Both include a lanyard; Amazon describes its included lanyard as woven. These are manufacturer descriptions and specifications, not comparative comfort testing, so they do not establish an ergonomic winner.
What do they cost?
Prices depend on market and date, so the figures below should not be treated as a direct price comparison. TechCrunch reported a US price of $34.99 for Kindle Click on October 1, 2026. Kobo’s December 2, 2025 launch announcement listed Kobo Remote at $34.99 CAD. That launch price is not a current US quote.
