The Kenmore Intuition is a family of corded, bagged upright vacuums, so its features and included tools depend on the model. Kenmore’s BU4050 combines a detachable Lift-Up canister, Hair Eliminator brushroll and No Touch bag system; RTINGS reports that its tested Intuition performed well on multiple floor types and pet hair, but flags subpar build quality and no floorhead height adjustment. Those are review findings, not a guarantee for every variant.
What is the Kenmore Intuition?
It is a line of corded, bagged upright vacuums rather than a single fixed configuration. Kenmore’s BU4050 product page lists a two-motor system, HEPA filtration, swivel steering, an LED headlight, a detachable Lift-Up canister, and a Hair Eliminator brushroll with No Touch bag technology. Kenmore specifies that the BU4050 weighs under 15 pounds, has a 30-foot cord and an 11-inch cleaning width. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.
The detachable canister and quick-draw wand are intended to support above-floor and stair cleaning, according to Kenmore. Because the Intuition name covers variants, check the model number on the listing and packaging before relying on a feature or assuming a particular accessory is included.
How do the BU4022 and BU4050 differ?
The BU4022 and BU4050 share the Intuition family name, but their listings show different tool descriptions. RTINGS’ variant table identifies the following differences; its table lists six dirtbags for each model.

Accessory sets and box contents can vary by model and retailer. Kenmore’s BU4050 page also gives inconsistent included-bag counts: its overview says six HEPA bags, while its specifications and FAQ list four bags among the included accessories. Check the exact seller listing or package contents rather than treating either count as definitive.
How well does it clean?
RTINGS’ Kenmore Intuition review says the tested vacuum performed well across surface types and with pet hair. The same review notes subpar build quality and the lack of floorhead height adjustment. RTINGS originally dated the review December 8, 2020; its page reports modification on January 16, 2026. These findings apply to that publisher’s tested vacuum and do not establish identical performance or durability for every Intuition model.

What bags and filter does the BU4050 use?
Kenmore identifies the IB600 as a six-pack of HEPA replacement bags and lists the BU4050 and BU4022 among compatible models, along with BU3040, BU4018, BU4019, BU4020, BU4021 and BU4023. Kenmore states that the bags hold 3.2 liters each and capture 99.97% of dust particles, pollen, bacteria and other particles as small as 0.3 micron. These are manufacturer claims; the indexed page does not state a publication year. Confirm your vacuum’s exact model and the package compatibility before ordering.
Kenmore lists the BU4050 exhaust filter part number as 561055118. Verify that part number against your model and the product package before buying a replacement.

Who should consider the Intuition?
- Consider it if you want a corded, bagged upright and value the BU4050’s detachable canister for above-floor tasks.
- Check the model carefully if you want a particular brushroll or accessory set; the BU4022 and BU4050 listings differ.
- Weigh the review’s caveats if build quality and adjustable floorhead height are priorities. RTINGS flags both limitations in its review.
