The character’s threats to infiltrate water systems and launch missiles were part of the satire—not evidence of what Muse can do.
What happened in Jon Stewart’s AI segment
According to a CitrixNews republication of a Variety story by Payton Turkeltaub, Stewart returned behind the Daily Show desk on Monday night, October 5, 2026, for an AI-focused segment. He discussed concerns about AI, including possible effects on employment and catastrophic risks, and played clips of technology executives.
The segment then introduced Muse, which the report describes as Meta’s AI mascot or personal AI agent. Stewart and the character traded jokes that escalated from Muse’s cute appearance to mock threats about infiltrating water systems and launching missiles. Stewart’s line, “You Won’t Rid Our World of Humanity That Easily,” belongs to that comic exchange.
The report also says Stewart joked about President Donald Trump’s relationships with AI-industry figures Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman, and Jensen Huang, as well as calls for the industry to police itself. Those political references are reported as material from the segment, not independently established claims.

What the Muse exchange does—and does not—show
The menace was a satirical premise. The accessible report does not establish that Muse can infiltrate infrastructure, launch weapons, or carry out any other action threatened in the joke. It also does not independently verify Muse’s official product status or capabilities.
That distinction matters when reading a comedy segment about AI doom: it can dramatize fears about technology, but it is not evidence that a particular system poses a specific threat. The report supplies no technical assessment or evidence for ranking AI systems or estimating the likelihood of catastrophic scenarios.
