Dexerto reports that parents and children connected to the Jersey Hitmen’s 10U team in Wayne, New Jersey, were suspended from practices and games after four mothers wore custom letterman jackets featuring team branding. The report says the team’s owner tied the suspensions to a demand for restitution, including a reported 15% royalty. What reportedly happened
In a report published Oct. 6, 2026, Michael Gwilliam of Dexerto said four mothers associated with the Jersey Hitmen 10U team wore custom letterman jackets in an Instagram photo posted Sept. 20, 2026. Dexerto reported that the photo was later deleted. The team plays out of Ice Vault Arena in Wayne, New Jersey.
Dexerto quoted an email attributed to Jersey Hitmen owner Bobby Reiss saying that the parents and children were suspended from practices and games until restitution was paid to the organization. The report says families were directed to purchase apparel through the team store.
What the reported email said
As reproduced by Dexerto, Reiss wrote: “I cannot permit or tolerate these actions. Therefore, the parents on this team and their children are suspended until restitution is made to our organization.”

Dexerto also quoted Reiss describing the matter as “one of the most egregious violations in recent memory of someone taking upon themselves to violate this policy in our contracts,” and saying, “I don’t relish taking it out on the players, but I cannot see any other way to deal with this in the immediate time.” These are excerpts attributed to an email in Dexerto’s report; the email itself was not independently reviewed here.
What is known about the royalty demand
Dextero reported that the demand included a 15% royalty related to the alleged unauthorized use of team branding. That figure is a reported demand, not a verified contract term or proof that a payment was made. The report does not establish the total amount sought.

The account characterizes the branding as allegedly unauthorized and reports Reiss’s claim that a policy was included in contracts. It does not provide the contract language or an independent legal assessment, so it does not establish that the jackets breached a contract or infringed a trademark.
