No exclusive DLC has been announced in the Nintendo materials reviewed. The The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is official and exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, but Nintendo’s announcement and product listing describe other new features—not DLC. Those include amiibo-unlocked masks, a companion app and ocarina interactions. Nintendo lists November 5, 2026 as the release date.
Is the Ocarina of Time remake getting exclusive DLC?
Not according to Nintendo’s announcement or product listing. Neither source announces exclusive DLC, so the claim in the headline is not confirmed by the official information reviewed. That does not establish that Nintendo will never announce DLC; it means there is no official DLC announcement in those materials.
Nintendo confirms the remake as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. Its US product listing and September 8, 2026 announcement describe the game and its new features without identifying any of them as DLC.
What Nintendo has confirmed
Release date, platform and physical edition
Nintendo lists November 5, 2026 as the release date for Nintendo Switch 2. A physical edition is confirmed. Nintendo says the first print run will have special packaging with textured foil cover art while supplies last; that packaging detail is limited to the first print run.
#1 Best Overall
- This is the world edition. It has different packaging but is fully authentic and works on US region 3DS systems.
- The Legend of Zelda veterans can look forward to the Master Quest - a second quest with revamped puzzles and redesigned dungeons.
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is a masterful improvement on one of the landmark releases in video game history.
- “E10+”, w/Animated Blood, Fantasy Violence, Suggestive Themes
Nintendo’s US announcement lists a regular price of $59.99. That is a US-market listing, not a universal price or confirmation of a current retailer offer.
Changes to the original adventure
Nintendo describes overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded character dialogue, symphonic orchestral music, reworked camera and movement controls, faster loading and smoother performance. The announcement also mentions a continuing day-and-night cycle in towns and a freely movable camera in remodeled locations.
These are Nintendo’s announced features, not independently tested comparisons. The original Nintendo 64 release is the reference point for the remake’s presentation and control changes.

| Feature | What Nintendo says | How it differs from DLC |
|---|---|---|
| ZELDA NOTES app functions | The Nintendo Switch App section is planned to offer adventure tracking, location hints, a virtual ocarina and a quiz. Nintendo specifies a compatible smart device, Nintendo Account and persistent internet for app use. | These are companion-app functions, not announced downloadable game content. |
| Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo | The figures are planned for 2027 and unlock masks with a retro graphical style in the game. | Nintendo identifies these as amiibo-linked unlocks, not DLC. |
| Ocarina interaction | Players can hum a learned melody within microphone range for Link to play it in-game. Nintendo also says the game will respond to instruments such as playable and electronic ocarinas, expected later in 2026. | This is an interaction with a microphone or compatible instrument, not an announced DLC pack. Nintendo does not describe these instruments as required accessories. |
Nintendo’s product listing covers the game and app functions, while its announcement describes the amiibo and ocarina details.
