No. The Nothing Phone (2) has an official IP54 rating for splash, water and dust resistance, but that does not mean it is waterproof or safe to submerge. Keep it away from pools, the beach and other situations where it could be immersed.
What does IP54 mean for the Nothing Phone (2)?
Nothing lists the Phone (2) as IP54 under “Splash, water and dust resistance” in its official specifications. The rating is a limited resistance classification, not a promise that the phone will survive every kind of water exposure.
In particular, IP54 should not be read as permission to submerge the phone. Nothing does not publish a Phone (2) water-exposure depth, duration or probability of surviving a particular incident in the cited specification.
Can you take the Phone (2) to the pool, beach or shower?
Do not deliberately expose the Phone (2) to water to test its resistance, and keep it away from submersion, pools and the beach. Nothing’s IP54 guidance for the related Phone (2a) advises against beach or pool use and cautions against charging or operating buttons while wet. That is guidance for a related product, not a Phone (2)-specific guarantee of safe use in those conditions.

The cited guidance does not establish whether using the Phone (2) in a bathroom during a shower is safe. Avoid placing it where spray, splashes or condensation could reach it; its IP54 rating is not a waterproofing guarantee.
Does water damage fall under warranty?
Nothing’s warranty information excludes liquid-contact damage, while its warranty article describes coverage for manufacturing defects under normal use. Terms may differ by purchase market, so check the warranty conditions that apply where you bought the phone.

How to reduce water-related risk
- Keep the phone away from pools, the beach and any place it could be submerged.
- Do not intentionally test its water resistance.
- If you need to keep a phone enclosed near water, consider a waterproof phone pouch. This is an optional extra enclosure, not a Nothing recommendation or a tested compatibility claim; it does not change the Phone (2)’s IP54 rating.
