Revenant Saga may appeal to Fire Emblem fans who want another turn-based RPG, but it is not established as a tactical, grid-based alternative. KEMCO’s gothic fantasy game follows Albert, whose search for revenge begins after a deceptive experiment turns him into a revenant. Its documented features include 3D-animated turn-based battles, in-battle transformations, subquests, and weapon forging.
What Revenant Saga is about
Published by KEMCO, Revenant Saga centers on Albert. A scientist’s experiment transforms him into a revenant and causes deaths among those close to him; Albert sets out seeking revenge and, as KEMCO puts it, “the truth that lies beyond revenge.” The game is described as a gothic fantasy RPG.
The revenge premise gives the story a darker fantasy frame than the title alone might suggest. It does not, however, tell you whether the game’s combat resembles Fire Emblem’s tactical battles.
How its combat differs from Fire Emblem
Nintendo describes Revenant Saga as having turn-based battles with 3D animation. The official descriptions reviewed do not identify it as a grid-based tactical RPG. They also do not establish Fire Emblem-style systems such as unit permadeath, class progression, or relationship mechanics, so those should not be assumed.

The useful point of overlap is broad: both can interest players looking for RPG battles. If what you want is specifically grid tactics, the available official descriptions do not support treating Revenant Saga as a substitute for that style of play.
Other documented game features
- In-battle transformations: Nintendo lists the ability to transform during battles.
- Subquests: The game includes optional quests alongside its main story.
- Weapon forging: Nintendo identifies forging weapons as one of the game’s systems.
KEMCO described the Wii U version’s story as woven around “over 30+ hours of gameplay.” That is the publisher’s scope statement, not an independently measured completion time or a guarantee of how long an individual playthrough will take.
