The $129.99 offer in this headline was for a Koofr 1TB lifetime-storage plan, but it is not established as available now. The latest deal coverage located gave the coupon code KOOFR a deadline of July 13, 2026; that date has passed. Koofr’s public pricing page lists recurring plans, not the old lifetime offer. As of October 5, 2026, check current checkout terms before paying, and don’t treat “lifetime” as a promise that files are kept indefinitely without account activity.
What happened to the $129.99 offer?
The advertised deal was a one-time purchase of 1TB of Koofr storage, promoted with code KOOFR. New Atlas covered an iteration ending February 16, 2026, and sponsored Stack Commerce coverage in Popular Science listed a later deadline of July 13, 2026. That later deadline has passed, so the old price and code should not be assumed to work today. New Atlas’s February 2026 coverage and Popular Science’s sponsored deal article describe those past promotions; neither establishes current availability.
Koofr’s official pricing page currently describes a free 10GB tier and recurring paid plans, including a 1TB tier. It does not confirm the historic lifetime offer. Prices on that page are in euros, include 22% VAT, and can vary with the country’s VAT; checkout shows the exact amount. For a current purchase, rely on the price and terms presented at Koofr checkout rather than a dated deal article.
What “lifetime” does—and does not—mean
A lifetime plan describes the payment arrangement; it does not necessarily guarantee that an account and its files will remain untouched forever. Koofr’s posted terms say that accounts unused for two years receive warning emails over several months. If the user does not respond, Koofr may permanently remove the account and all its data. The terms page says it was last updated May 16, 2018, so check the terms in effect for the account and offer before purchase.

For important files, keep another copy outside the cloud account; a separate external drive can serve as a local backup, but it is not part of the Koofr plan. Koofr’s older comparison makes the general point that any backup is better than none. Koofr’s cloud-storage versus external-drive comparison discusses the distinction.

What Koofr storage includes
Koofr lists file synchronization, sharing, and file versioning among its features. You can access the service through a browser or its desktop apps for Windows, Mac, and Linux, and mobile apps for iOS, Android, and Huawei. Check the plan’s current limits and terms for details that matter to your workflow, such as sharing or transfer restrictions. Koofr’s pricing page lists plan features, while its help center provides access information.
Encryption and privacy
Koofr describes two different layers that are worth distinguishing. Its privacy material says content is encrypted in transit and at rest, and metadata is stored separately from file content. Separately, Koofr Vault is an optional client-side encryption feature that the company says is open source, included in all plans, available through web and mobile apps, and compatible with rclone. Those are vendor statements, not independent security test results. Koofr also offers optional two-factor authentication. See its privacy information and Koofr Vault documentation.

Using Koofr with other services
Koofr supports WebDAV connections, which can let compatible tools access the storage. Its documentation lists integrations such as Zotero, Duplicati, QNAP, and Synology backup connections. These setups require an application-specific password; follow Koofr’s instructions rather than reusing your regular account password. See the WebDAV connection instructions for supported setups and steps.

How to decide whether a lifetime plan is worth it
Compare the actual one-time price with what you would pay for an equivalent recurring plan over the period you expect to use it. A simple break-even calculation is:
Break-even time in months = one-time price ÷ comparable monthly price.

If you mainly want to avoid a monthly bill, the old headline’s price may sound attractive, but it is not a current, verified offer. Koofr’s recurring 1TB tier and free 10GB plan are the options shown on its public pricing page; compare those current terms with your expected use before choosing.
