Generally, yes—if your PlayStation account is well secured and other people cannot freely use your console. Saving a card makes purchases more convenient, but it does not eliminate the possibility of unauthorized spending. PlayStation provides account and checkout safeguards, yet its published guidance does not guarantee that a saved card can never be misused.

What saving a card on PlayStation Network means

PlayStation says eligible payment information is saved to your account when you add it while shopping. You can manage payment methods through your account. That means a saved card can make future purchases easier, but anyone able to make purchases through your account may be able to spend using the available payment method.

PlayStation’s US terms say some devices may offer an account setting that requires a password or another authentication method, such as a passkey, before transactions can be completed. The stated purpose is to help protect against unauthorized transactions and prevent other users of the same device from making purchases or accessing payment information. The available setting and how it works depend on the device and account settings. PlayStation US Terms of Service, section 8.7

Is it safe to save my credit card on PSN?

It can be a reasonable choice if you secure the account, enable an available purchase safeguard, and control who can access the console. PlayStation recommends using a passkey or a strong, unique password, signing out of shared devices, and using checkout password protection where supported. They therefore do not establish that stored details are encrypted, tokenized, or immune to theft. Can someone buy games if my card is saved on PlayStation?

Someone with access to your account or an unlocked console may be able to make purchases, depending on your account and device settings. Reduce that risk by securing your sign-in, enabling an available transaction authentication setting, and signing out of devices other people use. Protect purchases made by family members

On PlayStation’s US support page, child accounts use the family manager’s wallet subject to a monthly spending limit. The limit starts at zero when a child account is created, and the family manager can set it. Check the current controls for your country and account type. Should you keep a card saved or use wallet top-ups?

A PlayStation Store gift card or wallet top-up code is an alternative if you prefer not to leave a bank card on the account. It is a payment and spending-management choice, not a fix for a compromised account: anyone able to make purchases through the account may still be able to use wallet funds. How do I remove my card from my PlayStation account?

Open Payment Management. Sign in to your PlayStation account and go to Payment Management.
Select the payment method. Choose the card you want to remove and use the on-screen option to remove it.
Check subscriptions and wallet funds. Review active subscriptions and their payment settings; removing a card does not itself explain or resolve an unfamiliar charge. If you prefer not to keep a card on the account, you can use a PlayStation Store gift card or top-up code where available.

What should I do about an unrecognized PlayStation charge?

Check transaction history. Look for the charge in your PlayStation transaction history.
Check subscriptions. See whether an active recurring subscription accounts for the payment.
