Choose the Galaxy if a larger screen is the priority. Their listed weights are close—211g and 214g—so the clearest hardware distinction here is screen size, not weight. That is an inference from manufacturer specifications, not hands-on ergonomic testing.
For U.S. buyers, compare the storage tier and the price currently available to you. Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro from $1,199; Samsung’s listed unlocked price for the 256GB Galaxy S26 Ultra was $1,299.99 before promotions. Neither set of specifications establishes an overall winner for camera quality, battery life, or sustained speed.
Which phone has the bigger screen?
| Specification | iPhone 18 Pro | Galaxy S26 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.3-inch OLED, per Apple | 6.9-inch display, per Samsung |
| Weight | 211g, per Apple | 214g, per Samsung |
The Galaxy’s larger display gives it the advantage if you prefer more screen area for reading, viewing, or working. The iPhone’s smaller display makes it the more compact choice on paper. The listed weights are only 3g apart, so published weight alone does not establish a meaningful handling advantage.
How much do they cost in the U.S.?
Prices below are U.S. manufacturer figures, not global prices. Apple announced iPhone 18 Pro pricing on September 9, 2026; Samsung’s U.S. unlocked purchase page showed the Galaxy prices below when retrieved on October 4, 2026.

| Storage | iPhone 18 Pro | Galaxy S26 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| 256GB | From $1,199, per Apple’s U.S. announcement | $1,299.99 regular listed price; Samsung’s page showed $200 off when retrieved |
| 512GB | Price not stated in the cited Apple announcement | $1,499.99 regular listed price |
| 1TB | Price not stated in the cited Apple announcement | $1,799.99 regular listed price |
| 2TB | Available; price not stated in the cited Apple announcement | Not listed on the cited U.S. purchase page |
Apple lists 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB iPhone configurations; Samsung’s cited U.S. purchase page lists Galaxy configurations up to 1TB. The figures are not a complete storage-matched price comparison, because Apple’s announcement gives a starting price rather than prices for every capacity. Samsung’s displayed $200 discount is time-sensitive. Check current prices, carrier offers, trade-in eligibility, stock, and regional availability before buying.
What do the camera specifications tell you?
| Rear-camera listing | iPhone 18 Pro | Galaxy S26 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer-published hardware | 48MP triple-camera system, per Apple | 200MP wide, 50MP telephoto, and 50MP ultra-wide, per Samsung |
These figures describe listed hardware, not comparative photo or video quality. Megapixels alone do not establish which phone takes better pictures. A reliable verdict would require comparable testing across the kinds of shots and video you care about.

What is known about battery life and performance?
Samsung lists a 5,000mAh battery and claims up to 31 hours of video playback for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. That is Samsung’s manufacturer claim, not a directly comparable independent result. The cited specifications do not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use or performs better under sustained workloads. They also do not provide a comparable battery-capacity figure for the iPhone, so those numbers should not be used to declare a winner.

The iPhone 18 Pro is part of Apple’s platform; the S26 Ultra is a Samsung Galaxy phone. Your existing devices, services, and personal preference are sensible factors in the decision. The available product information does not support a detailed claim that either platform is universally better, so consider how each option fits the devices and services you already use.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose iPhone 18 Pro if its smaller 6.3-inch display is the form factor you want, or if you prefer Apple’s platform. Apple lists storage options through 2TB.
- Choose Galaxy S26 Ultra if you want the larger 6.9-inch display, prefer Samsung’s Galaxy platform, or want its listed 1TB top storage tier. Its cited U.S. page also provides prices by storage configuration.
- Wait for comparable testing if battery endurance, camera results, or sustained speed will decide the purchase; the manufacturer figures here do not settle those comparisons.
