enQase is an enterprise security platform launched on February 13, 2025. The company says it combines post-quantum cryptography (PQC), quantum random number generation (QRNG), and quantum key distribution (QKD), including digital QKD, in a crypto-agile platform. Its launch announcement describes service, licensing, and on-premises deployment options. Those details explain the vendor’s proposition; they do not independently establish the platform’s performance, integrations, or absolute security.

How enQase says its platform works

enQase describes three technologies as complementary parts of its architecture: QRNG to generate entropy, QKD and digital QKD (dQKD) for key exchange, and NIST-aligned PQC for encryption. It calls the result a “crypto-agile” platform, meaning, in the company’s description, that algorithms, keys, and protocols can be adapted, upgraded, or replaced as threats and standards change. These are vendor descriptions of the intended design and capabilities, not independently verified findings. enQase’s homepage

In practical terms, this is a combined approach rather than a claim that one technology replaces every other security measure. PQC uses cryptographic algorithms designed to resist attacks by quantum computers; QRNG and QKD are quantum technologies that the company says support entropy generation and key exchange. The reviewed materials do not document how each component is implemented in a customer environment or how it interoperates with a particular network, application, or existing cryptographic system.

Products and deployment options described by enQase

The company’s current homepage lists services and solutions for cryptographic inventory, secure connectivity, key management, messaging and collaboration, PQC compliance, drone communications, and expert services. It also describes a network-attached Quantum Hardware Security Module (QHSM) and a UAV encryptor. These listings indicate the range enQase presents, but do not establish the availability of each offering in a particular country or its suitability for a specific workload. enQase

  • Universal Connectivity (USB-A ): Features a built-in USB-A connector—simply unfold the key and plug it into your compatible PC or laptop for seamless authentication on the go.
  • Dedicated Manager App: Use the Thetis Manager App for the initial hardware PIN setup. Setting the PIN on the device first ensures a smooth registration process. Once the PIN is configured, you can begin registering the key across your favorite FIDO2-compatible online services.
  • Ultra-Durable & Portable: Featuring a rotating metal cover, this key is water, crush, and tamper-resistant. It fits easily on a keychain and requires no batteries or network connectivity.
  • Check FIDO2 compatibility before purchase - Known limitations: ID Austria is not supported (requires FIDO2 Level 2). Windows Hello login only works with Windows Enterprise editions that support Entra ID, and NFC is NOT supported.

The February 2025 launch announcement lists SaaS, PaaS, perpetual licensing, and on-premises hardware as deployment options. It does not provide pricing or enough detail to compare the operational requirements of those models. The launch announcement

Why quantum-safe migration takes more than buying a product

Moving to quantum-resistant cryptography can involve systems and protocols that are difficult to change. ETSI’s 2015 white paper discusses protocol rigidity and the lead time needed to modify deployed infrastructure. It also notes that no exact arrival date for general-purpose quantum computing could be given. That paper is useful background on migration challenges, not a current forecast or evidence about enQase. For an enterprise, the relevant question is therefore not only which cryptographic methods a platform names. It is how those methods fit into the organization’s assets, protocols, applications, key-management processes, and planned migration. enQase lists cryptographic inventory and expert services among its offerings, but the available sources do not establish the integration work or customer-specific migration burden.

What the company’s published figures and claims establish

enQase’s homepage reports “8 United States patents,” “10+ years of quantum research & real world deployment,” and a rate of “640,000 256-bit AES keys per second.” The material reviewed does not supply a measurement method or test conditions for the throughput figure, nor does it independently verify the other company-reported figures. They should be treated as vendor claims rather than comparative performance results. enQase’s homepage

The company’s press page lists a July 14, 2026 announcement concerning “FIPS 140-3 Validation, Certificate #5346.” The certificate record itself was not examined, so the listing alone does not establish the scope or status of validation for a product an enterprise may purchase. Buyers should confirm the relevant certificate and determine whether it applies to the exact module and configuration under consideration. enQase press and events

The February 2025 launch release also refers to NIST’s August 2024 PQC recommendations. That reference appears in the company’s announcement; it is not an independent account of NIST’s publications. The release’s promotional language about the threat and its solution should likewise be read as the company’s position, not as independent validation. enQase launch release

What an enterprise should verify before evaluating enQase

A useful evaluation turns the platform’s claims into questions that can be answered for the buyer’s environment. Request evidence and document the scope of each answer rather than assuming a broad platform description applies to every product or deployment.

  • Interoperability: Which protocols, applications, network equipment, and key-management systems are supported? What integrations require changes or professional services?
  • Migration effort: What cryptographic assets are inventoried, how are dependencies identified, and what must change in existing systems? Ask for a migration plan tied to the organization’s infrastructure.
  • Crypto-agility in practice: Which algorithms, keys, or protocols can customers replace or upgrade, and how is that performed without disrupting services?
  • Validation scope: For any certification or compliance claim, inspect the primary record and confirm the validated product, module, version, configuration, and applicable requirements.
  • Performance evidence: Ask for test conditions and results relevant to the intended workload, including how throughput was measured. The homepage’s AES-key rate does not include those conditions in the material reviewed.
  • Operations and deployment: Compare the responsibilities, infrastructure, support, and security controls required for SaaS, PaaS, licensing, or on-premises hardware. Confirm availability for the intended region.
  • Total cost: Obtain a customer-specific quote and include implementation, integration, operations, and ongoing migration work. Public pricing is not established in the cited materials.

What is established—and what remains a vendor claim

The public materials establish that enQase announced an enterprise quantum-safe security platform in February 2025 and describe an architecture combining PQC, QRNG, and QKD/dQKD, along with a range of deployment and product options. They do not independently demonstrate comparative effectiveness, customer outcomes, workload performance, integrations, or absolute security. The appropriate next step for an interested organization is a scoped technical and commercial evaluation based on its own systems and requirements.
