1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsSecurityWeek’s April 18, 2025 roundup covered three separate cybersecurity stories: a reported intrusion at 4chan, an Android restart feature that Google described as future-facing, and U.S. charges against the alleged operator of the Nemesis dark-web marketplace. The Android item was not evidence of a feature already rolling out, and the Nemesis charge was an allegation—not a conviction.
What happened in the reported 4chan hack?
SecurityWeek’s April 18, 2025 summary said 4chan had been mostly down since Tuesday and relayed TechCrunch’s report that an intruder appeared to have accessed internal material, including source code and lists of moderators and “janitors”—the site’s volunteer moderators. SecurityWeek’s roundup is the available source for that summary.
Those details should be treated as reported claims, not as a verified forensic account. The reporting available for the roundup did not establish how access was gained, the final scope of any data exposure, or confirmation from 4chan or an incident responder. It therefore does not support stating that every reported category of information was definitively taken.
Does Android restart a phone after three days locked?
In April 2025, Google Play services release notes described a security feature that would automatically restart a device if it stayed locked for three consecutive days. TechCrunch reported the item on April 15, 2025, initially drawing attention to the behavior as a new Android security feature. TechCrunch’s April 15 report explains that release-note entry.

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. For additional hearing aid compatibility information, please refer to Samsung’s official support documentation.
- Camera: 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/2.76", 0.64µm, AF | 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), 1/2.76", 0.64µm, AF | 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro). Battery: 5000 mAh, non-removable | A power adapter is NOT included.
The wording was clarified the next day. 9to5Google reported that Google had changed the note to: “Enables a future optional security feature, which will automatically restart your device if locked for 3 consecutive days.” That wording makes two important points: the feature was described as optional, and as future-facing—not as a feature already generally available. 9to5Google’s April 16 report reproduces the updated release-note text.
Google’s May 13, 2025 post about Android 16 Advanced Protection describes an optional, device-level security setting and other protections. It provides context for Android’s security direction, but does not confirm that this three-day inactivity restart had launched broadly. Google’s Advanced Protection announcement should not be read as a launch notice for the reboot feature. The cited April and May coverage does not establish its present-day availability.

Who was charged over Nemesis Market?
The Record reported on April 30, 2025 that Behrouz Parsarad, an Iranian national, was charged by a federal grand jury over his alleged role in founding and operating Nemesis Market, a dark-web marketplace. The report attributed its account of the alleged conduct to an indictment and government statements; the primary charging document is not available in the sources cited here. Read The Record’s report on the charges.
The Record said the indictment alleged more than 400,000 orders through 2024. Its report also described the marketplace as having more than 150,000 users and about 1,100 vendor accounts. These are figures reported by The Record from the indictment and government information, not independently verified figures here. A charge is an accusation, and the reporting cited here does not establish a conviction or later case outcome.
