ideaForge Technology disclosed a disputed GST order demanding ₹54.586 crore in tax plus an equal ₹54.586 crore penalty for January 2022 through March 2024. The company says it will appeal; the exchange filing describes a demand, not a final finding that ideaForge owes the amount. Note that the supplied title’s ₹545.86 crore figure is ten times the tax amount in the filing: ₹545.86 million converts to ₹54.586 crore.
How much is the ideaForge GST demand?
In its 2 October 2026 exchange disclosure, ideaForge Technology Limited reported a tax demand of INR 545.86 million, or ₹54.586 crore, and a separate penalty of the same amount. Added together, the disclosed tax and penalty total INR 1,091.72 million, or ₹109.172 crore, before any separately stated interest. The filing does not give a separate interest figure. ideaForge’s NSE/BSE disclosure
The ₹545.86 crore wording in the supplied title is inconsistent with the filing: ₹545.86 million is ₹54.586 crore, not ₹545.86 crore. The filing’s figures are used here.
Why did ideaForge receive the GST order?
The Additional Commissioner CGST & Central Excise, Belapur issued the order under Section 74 of the Central GST Act, read with the MGST and IGST Acts. As summarized in the company’s filing, the authority alleged that ideaForge wrongly applied a 5% GST rate under Schedule I, entry 244, resulting in a short payment at a differential rate of 13 percentage points. That is the authority’s allegation as recorded by the company, not an independently established finding in the available disclosure.
What is ideaForge’s position, and will it appeal?
ideaForge says the government clarified in 2025 that the GST rate for drones is 5%. The filing does not identify or reproduce that clarification, give its date, or explain how the company says it applies to the earlier January 2022–March 2024 period. The later clarification claim therefore does not, by itself, settle the dispute described in the order.

The company said it would file an appeal with the appropriate authority in consultation with its tax advisors and said it expects a favourable outcome. Those are ideaForge’s stated plans and expectations; the disclosure says an appeal would be filed, not that it had already been filed. It does not establish whether an appeal or stay followed.

ideaForge said that, at the time of its disclosure, it did not expect an immediate material impact on its financials, business operations, or other activities while the matter remained unresolved. This is the company’s assessment of immediate impact, not a decision on ultimate liability. The filing does not quantify a provision.
