When does the open Steam playtest run?
Digital Vortex Entertainment announced that the open playtest runs from October 6 through October 20, 2026. That is the publisher’s advertised period. Treat October 20 as the announced end date, not as a date independently confirmed by Steam metadata.

What does the playtest involve?
According to the publisher announcement and Steam description, combat happens automatically, while choices about mutations, abilities, and route shape the run. As the horde ascends, players choose mutations, shop, and combine effects. Branching paths present risk-and-reward decisions; resources collected in the fortress can be used between runs for permanent upgrades and to unlock mutations.
The announcement also describes “Visages”: enemy skulls that can change the character’s class and grant abilities. These are announced gameplay features, not independently verified hands-on findings.

What content is planned for the full game?
The publisher announcement and Steam listing advertise more than 200 dungeon floors and more than 50 mutations. Those are planned full-game feature counts, not a verified inventory of what the current playtest contains.
