Humane’s official announcements established U.S. availability and described international expansion as a future plan, but did not establish a Canadian launch. More importantly, Humane discontinued consumer sales and shut down the Pin’s cloud service on February 28, 2025. It is no longer a connected AI assistant Canadians should expect to buy and use as advertised.
Was the Humane AI Pin available in Canada?
Humane’s April 11, 2024 announcement said the Ai Pin was available to U.S. customers. The company also described international telecom partnerships as the beginning of a planned global expansion, with more countries and partnerships to be announced. That roadmap language did not confirm Canadian availability. Humane’s availability announcement named the U.S. as the market then open to customers.
The official announcements do not establish a Canadian retail launch; they also do not prove that no Canadian ever obtained a unit through cross-border purchasing or resale. Any such purchase would not make the product an officially supported Canadian service.
Can you buy a new AI Pin now?
No. Humane’s consumer FAQ says the Ai Pin was no longer available for new purchases as the company wound down the consumer product. Humane introduced it in November 2023 with U.S. ordering scheduled to begin November 16 at a launch price of $699 for the complete system. That was historical launch pricing, not a current offer or an indication of present-day usable value. Humane’s launch announcement provides the original date and price; the consumer FAQ covers the wind-down.

A used unit may appear through resale, but buying one does not restore the service it depended on. The official sources establish no trade-in or replacement program.
Does the Humane AI Pin still work?
Its core connected experience does not. Humane set February 28, 2025, at 12 p.m. Pacific as the time devices would stop connecting to its servers and access to .Center would end. Calls, texts, data, voice interactions, AI responses, and other cloud functions became unavailable. Humane’s consumer FAQ and customer shutdown notice describe the service closure.
Humane said limited offline features, such as checking battery level, might still work. That is not the advertised connected assistant experience, and the official material does not describe the device as a functioning replacement for it.

The deadlines for refunds and retrieving stored content have passed. Humane’s FAQ said device refunds were limited to customers within 90 days of original shipment, with shipments on or after November 15, 2024 eligible; requests had to be submitted by February 27, 2025. The company also said subscriptions would be canceled automatically and that prepaid months after February 28, 2025 would receive prorated refunds. It said customer support ended after the shutdown and there would be no trade-in or replacement program. Humane’s FAQ gives these wind-down terms.

Before shutdown, Humane instructed owners to sync over Wi-Fi and download photos, videos, and notes from .Center. The company said remaining customer data, including personal information, would be permanently deleted from its servers at shutdown.
