Huawei Cloud describes its European offer as a customizable mix of infrastructure, technology services and expertise, delivered with local operations and partner-built solutions. Huawei reports serving more than 3,000 European customers since 2016 and cites strong results in an individual customer case. Those are vendor-reported figures—not independent proof that customization itself produces broad customer rewards. The sources also do not show that Huawei Cloud won an award for customizable services.
What does Huawei Cloud customize for European businesses?
Huawei frames its offer as “Everything as a Service,” with three layers: Infrastructure as a Service, Technology as a Service, and Expertise as a Service. In its October 2022 European strategy announcement, Huawei described technology pipelines for AI development, software development, data governance and digital content production. Its expertise layer is intended to make Huawei’s and its partners’ practices available through cloud services. These are descriptions of Huawei’s strategy and capabilities, not independent assessments of their quality or suitability.
The European site currently lists infrastructure, analytics, database, messaging and API services, alongside marketplace software and examples in e-commerce, education, gaming, manufacturing, financial services and smart retail. Listings can change, so confirm that the specific service, region and terms are available for the intended deployment on the Huawei Cloud Europe site.
Customization also depends on partners and local operations. Huawei’s 2022 announcement described European centers for support, research and development, innovation, ecosystem work, operations and maintenance, and solutions tailored to local markets. It also named an Ireland cloud region. Huawei’s current company profile says its cloud services are independently deployed within the EU and that local operations and maintenance are GDPR-compliant. These statements come from Huawei; businesses should verify the applicable service scope, data-processing roles and contractual commitments for their own workloads.

What evidence supports the reported results?
European customer coverage
Huawei says it has worked with partners to serve more than 3,000 European customers since 2016. That is a company-reported figure, not an independently audited customer count. Huawei’s Europe site also reports more than 100 international certifications, over 45,000 partners and more than 7.6 million developers. Those broad platform figures do not establish that all partners or developers are based in Europe.
BBTV New Media case
Huawei’s BBTV New Media case reports a 20% performance improvement and a cost reduction of more than 30%. These figures describe that customer case as reported by Huawei; they are not independent test results or a forecast for other deployments. The published material does not establish that customization alone caused the reported changes.

Infrastructure and certification figures
Huawei’s current company profile reports 83 availability zones across 29 regions worldwide. This is a global infrastructure count, not a count of European locations. The same profile says Huawei Cloud has more than 120 security and compliance certificates, including Germany C5. Certificate counts and scope can change; check which certificate applies to the specific service and deployment.
Dated market ranking
Huawei’s October 2022 announcement said Gartner ranked Huawei fifth in the 2021 IaaS market. This is Huawei’s account of a dated Gartner ranking; it is not a current market position, a European award, or evidence that customization drove the ranking.

- Dual-band Wi-Fi with 5 GHz speeds up to 867 Mbps and 2.4 GHz speeds up to 300 Mbps, delivering 1200 Mbps of total bandwidth¹. Dual-band routers do not support 6 GHz. Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- Covers up to 1,000 sq. ft. with four external antennas for stable wireless connections and optimal coverage.
- Supports IGMP Proxy/Snooping, Bridge and Tag VLAN to optimize IPTV streaming
- Access Point Mode - Supports AP Mode to transform your wired connection into wireless network, an ideal wireless router for home
- Advanced Security with WPA3 - The latest Wi-Fi security protocol, WPA3, brings new capabilities to improve cybersecurity in personal networks
Did Huawei Cloud win an award for customizable services?
The available sources do not establish that it did. Huawei’s report on its November 2024 European event says the first Industry Pioneer Award was presented to customers and partners for collaborative innovation with Huawei. It does not say Huawei Cloud won an award for customizable services, nor that the award measured customer returns. The distinction matters: recognition given to customers or partners is not an award to the cloud service itself.
Huawei’s European strategy announcement and event coverage describe investment, ecosystem development and digital transformation goals, but those statements are not independent confirmation of business outcomes. “Reap rewards” is therefore too broad unless it is tied to a named result, such as Huawei’s reported BBTV case, and clearly attributed.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
How should a European business evaluate the offer?
Compare a proposed Huawei Cloud deployment with alternatives against the same operational requirements. A feature list or global footprint alone cannot establish whether a particular service fits a European workload.
- Region and data handling: Confirm the exact location of the required service and data, relevant processing roles, and contractual terms.
- Service and industry fit: Verify that required services, marketplace products and partner solutions are available in the target region and cover the workload.
- Security and compliance: Check the specific certification, service scope and deployment conditions that apply; do not rely only on a total certificate count.
- Migration and integration: Assess migration effort, interoperability with existing systems, local support arrangements and the operating model after launch.
- Resilience and growth: Evaluate scalability and service-level terms against workload needs rather than inferring European coverage from global infrastructure figures.
- Cost and exit: Calculate total implementation and operating costs, and establish how data and workloads can be moved if the service or provider changes.
Huawei itself identifies cost-effectiveness, diversification, serviceability and scalability as areas for scenario-based solutions in its 2024 European event report. Treat those as evaluation criteria, not as proof that a particular deployment will meet them.
