A blank result does not, by itself, reveal the cause. If only the first screen is missing its lower content, use the documented full-page capture workaround instead.
Choose the import route that matches the page

If a public URL import is blank
- Confirm that the URL is publicly accessible without signing in, joining a VPN, or completing a browser challenge.
- In the plugin, choose Web, paste the open URL, and try the standard import once.
- If the page depends on a login, VPN, CAPTCHA, language choice, or other browser-visible state, switch to the extension route: open the page in your browser, reach the state you need, then capture it and send the result to the plugin or save it as
.h2d.
The URL import route does not solve CAPTCHAs during import. Solve the challenge in your browser first, then capture the page with the extension. The official guidance recommends the extension for private pages and some page-state or language cases that URL import may not handle.
If you are importing an HTML or other file
For an exported file, open the plugin’s File tab and provide a supported file: .h2d, HTML/HTM, ZIP, email formats, or MHTML/MHT. One limitation matters for HTML: it can refer to images, stylesheets, fonts, or other assets hosted elsewhere. If those resources are not publicly available, they may fail to load in the import. When the page needs resources or state available only in your browser, use the extension capture rather than relying on the HTML file alone.
If the page is incomplete rather than entirely blank
A page that imports only its visible screen has a different problem from a completely blank result. For missing content below the viewport, html.to.design documents a Chrome workaround using a very tall Device Mode viewport and the extension’s full-page capture. This is intended to address page length; it is not a universal fix for blank rendering.

- Open the page in Chrome and open DevTools.
- Turn on Device Mode.
- Set the viewport height to a very large value so the page can render further down.
- Use the html.to.design extension’s Capture full page option.
- Import the resulting
.h2dfile into the plugin.
The documentation notes that the plugin can sometimes capture only what is visible rather than the full page: Not capturing full page.
Do not treat a missing-font notice as a blank-page diagnosis
If page content appears but typography is wrong and the plugin offers Download missing fonts, follow the font-specific guidance: check the font’s internal rendered name and whether Figma recognizes it, then install it locally or organization-wide as appropriate. That is a font issue after content renders; the documentation does not identify a missing font as the cause of a wholly blank import. See Missing fonts.

When the documented routes do not fix it
The official guides do not establish one cause or one universal fix for every blank page. If the import still fails, report the rendering issue through the product’s Discord support channel, as directed by its issue-report page: Report an issue.
Include details that help distinguish a URL-access problem from a capture or rendering problem:

- The page URL, if it is safe to share.
- Whether the page is public, behind authentication, or available only through a VPN.
- Your browser and whether you used the Web tab, extension, or File tab.
- Whether the result is wholly blank, shows only the first screen, or has content with missing assets or fonts.
