HP announced the Chromebook Plus x360 14 at CES 2026 as a 360-degree convertible Chromebook with a 2K touchscreen and a drop-tested design. The available product information establishes its headline features and some configurations, but not independent hands-on impressions or test results. Here’s what the announcement and HP’s specifications actually confirm—and what to check before buying.
What HP announced at CES 2026
HP described the Chromebook Plus x360 14 as a convertible that adapts between modes using a 360° hinge, with a 2K display and a rugged, drop-tested design. Those are HP’s product claims; its announcement does not provide this model’s drop-test protocol or independent durability results. HP’s CES 2026 announcement also framed Chromebook Plus as a ChromeOS line with Google AI tools. Availability of those tools varies by device, language, country, and internet access, so the announcement is not a promise that every tool works on every configuration or in every region.
Which processor and configuration are listed?
HP Support identifies the Plus family as the 14c-ce0000 series and lists an Intel Core 3 N355 processor, with speeds up to 3.9 GHz, eight cores, and eight threads. HP lists a separate non-Plus x360 14 family, the 14b-ce0000, with an Intel N250 processor, up to 3.8 GHz, four cores, and four threads. These are family-level listings, not a guarantee that every regional SKU has identical components; HP cautions that configurations vary by region and custom order. Check the model number and full configuration on the listing you intend to buy. HP Support’s series specifications provide the family distinction.
A retrieved HP US store listing shows one Plus configuration with a 14-inch 1920×1200 multitouch IPS display rated at 300 nits, Core 3 N355, 8 GB onboard memory, 256 GB UFS storage, a 41 Wh battery, a 1080p camera, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. The listing displayed $779.99 for that specific configuration when retrieved; it is not an announced launch price or a universal price, and may change. View the HP US store configuration and verify its current price and specifications before purchase.

What “hands-on” can—and cannot—tell you here
Chrome Unboxed published a video titled “Hands-On with HP’s new Chromebook Plus x360 14 at CES 2026” on January 8, 2026. The video listing confirms the title and date, but does not establish any specific test result or user experience. Without verifiable observations from the video, claims about keyboard feel, screen quality in person, speed, battery life, heat, or build quality beyond HP’s own drop-tested description would be speculation. See the Chrome Unboxed video listing.
Availability and what to verify before buying
HP’s January 5, 2026 CES announcement forecast availability on HP.com in February 2026 and said pricing would be shared closer to availability. That was a forecast, not confirmation that the laptop launched or remains in stock. A surfaced US store listing provides a configuration and displayed price, but the listing’s publication date was not established. Check HP’s live store in your country for current stock, price, and delivery options.
