On a Windows PC, PC Game Pass gives you access to a changing library of supported games for as long as your subscription is active and each game remains in the catalog. It is not permanent ownership, and a console version being available does not guarantee that a game has a PC version. Check the current library and the specific game’s PC requirements before subscribing for a particular title.
What PC Game Pass includes
Xbox currently describes PC Game Pass as including day-one releases, more than 300 PC games, EA Play, and in-game benefits. Those are current plan descriptions, not guarantees that a particular game will remain available or that the library will stay at a fixed size. Xbox says titles, features, library size, and availability vary over time and by region, plan, and platform. See Xbox’s current Game Pass plan comparison and PC Game Pass page for the live details.

The Xbox PC app is where you can browse the PC catalog, install games, and launch them. A subscription grants access to eligible games through the service; it does not add every Xbox console game to PC. Xbox describes PC play as covering natively supported PC games and Xbox Play Anywhere titles. Play Anywhere lets supported titles carry in-game progress between Xbox console and Xbox on PC, but it does not mean every console game has a native PC release. Check the game’s listing in the PC catalog rather than assuming that its presence on another platform means it will run on your computer.
How to find and play a supported game
- Check the current PC catalog. Browse the Xbox PC app or the PC Game Pass page for the title in your region. Availability can change, and a title listed for a different platform may not be playable on PC.
- Check the game’s own requirements. Review the individual game page for its PC specifications and supported input methods. The Xbox app’s requirements are not the same as the requirements for each game.
- Install through the Xbox PC app. Use the app to download and launch games included in the PC catalog. A game must remain in the library and your subscription must be active for subscription access.
- Choose a supported input method. Xbox describes PC play with mouse and keyboard as well as Xbox controllers, but input support can differ by game. A controller is optional, not a subscription or app requirement.
Windows and hardware requirements
Xbox lists Windows 10 or Windows 11 version 22H2 or higher for the Xbox PC app. Its page also lists 150 MB of storage and a 720p display for the app itself, and notes that some use may require leaving Windows S mode. These figures are app requirements, not a promise that every game will run on a PC with those specifications. Each title has separate requirements, and performance depends on the game and the computer’s hardware. Check the specific game listing and Xbox’s Xbox on PC overview.

How PC Game Pass compares with other Game Pass plans
Xbox’s plan comparison, accessed October 7, 2026, describes the following current offerings. Counts and benefits are subject to change, and actual availability depends on region and platform.
| Plan | Scope and library description | New-release and other benefits |
|---|---|---|
| PC Game Pass | More than 300 PC games | Day-one titles, EA Play, and in-game benefits |
| Ultimate | 500+ games across console, PC, and supported devices | Includes cloud gaming |
| Premium | 200+ games across Xbox console, PC, and supported devices | Xbox-published new games join within one year of launch |
| Essential | 50+ games across console, PC, and supported devices | Does not include new-release titles on day one |
These descriptions come from Xbox’s plan comparison; they are not a guarantee that every listed game is available on every device. PC Game Pass is the PC-focused option in that comparison. Consider the platform you want to play on, whether you need day-one releases or EA Play, and whether cloud gaming matters before choosing a plan.

Subscription access, cancellation, and changing catalogs
Xbox says subscribers can access games in the library until the subscription is canceled or expires, or until a game leaves the library. If a title leaves the catalog, the subscription no longer provides access to it. A game’s continued availability should not be assumed from an old list, its presence on another platform, or a prior catalog announcement. Check the live listing for your region before subscribing for one specific game.
Xbox’s US PC Game Pass product page snapshot, accessed October 7, 2026, listed the price as $13.99 per month and said recurring billing is on by default. This is a US, date-sensitive listing, not a universal price; confirm the price, billing terms, and cancellation options shown at checkout in your market. Xbox’s US PC Game Pass page is the source for that snapshot.

PC downloads are different from cloud gaming
PC Game Pass does not include cloud gaming, according to Xbox’s plan page. Playing PC Game Pass games through the app means using supported PC games on your computer; it is distinct from streaming a game from the cloud. Cloud access may be included with other Game Pass plans, depending on the plan, supported devices, region, and applicable limits. Check the current plan comparison if streaming is a deciding factor.
