You can’t use Astra Streaming to watch regional-language movies on YouTube. DataStax Astra Streaming is a cloud service for application data and event processing, while Astra Streaming Studio is a mobile live-video broadcasting app. Neither is documented as a YouTube movie player. To watch a movie you bought or rented through YouTube, sign in to the Google account used for the purchase and open your YouTube Movies & TV or library area on a supported device.
First, which “Astra Streaming” do you mean?
The name can refer to different products, and neither product in the available official documentation provides a way to play YouTube movies.

The title’s wording may mix up watching content, broadcasting video, and transporting application data. No integration between either Astra product and YouTube movie playback is established by the product information above.
How to watch a YouTube movie you bought or rented
- On a supported phone, browser, or TV device, open YouTube or the YouTube Movies & TV area.
- Sign in to the same Google account used to buy or rent the movie. If it is missing, check that you have not switched accounts.
- Open your library or Movies & TV area and select the purchased or rented title.
- To watch on a TV, use YouTube on a supported TV device or cast to a TV with Chromecast where supported.
Google’s help page, Where you can watch your content, describes access on supported phones, browsers, and TV devices, and Chromecast streaming to a TV. Menus and availability may vary by country and device; a regional-language movie being available in one location does not mean it is available everywhere.

Looking for a South Indian movie catalog?
Astro’s Simply South is a separate service offering South Indian regional video content, including Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam movies. Astro says the service is available worldwide except India, and lists web and mobile apps and certain Astro boxes as access methods. See Astro’s Simply South page for its current access information. Why a live-broadcast app is not a movie-watching workaround
Astra Streaming Studio’s listing describes broadcasting from a mobile device, not playing movies purchased on YouTube. A broadcast feature does not grant permission to retransmit a film. Do not treat a live-streaming tool as a way to redistribute copyrighted movies; use the authorized viewing route for the movie instead.
