You can watch Foundation in the Apple TV app or at tv.apple.com, select subtitles or audio description when the episode offers those tracks, and download episodes for offline viewing on supported personal devices. Check the show’s listing in your country or region first: available accessibility features and languages can vary by title and location.
Check which subtitles and audio tracks Foundation offers
Open Foundation in the Apple TV app or visit tv.apple.com, then check the show’s description page and its Languages section. Look for the accessibility labels and language options shown for the title:
- CC: closed captions.
- SDH: subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
- AD: audio description, a spoken track describing important onscreen action.
Apple explains that “Audio-described (AD) content uses a spoken audio track to describe what’s happening onscreen.” A feature being supported by the app does not mean every episode has it in every region, so use the listing available to your account and location. Apple’s accessibility guide for the Apple TV app explains how these features are identified.
Select subtitles or audio description during playback
Start an episode and reveal the playback controls. Open Subtitles to choose one of the listed caption or subtitle tracks. To use audio description, open the audio options and select an AD track if one appears. Menu names and the way you reveal controls can differ by device. On iPhone or iPad
Tap the screen while the episode is playing to show the controls, then choose the available subtitle or audio option. You can also turn on Settings > Accessibility > Audio Descriptions so the device uses audio descriptions when a video provides that track. This preference cannot add an audio-description track to an episode that does not include one. See Apple’s iPhone and iPad instructions for audio descriptions.
On a TV or living-room device
Use the playback controls in the Apple TV app and choose from the subtitle and audio options offered for the episode. Audio descriptions are narration of important onscreen action and content; they are available only when the title supplies an AD track. Download Foundation episodes for offline viewing
Apple supports downloads of subscription episodes in the Apple TV app on eligible iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows PC, and Android devices. The exact controls can vary, but the general flow is:

- Choose an episode or season and use the download control if it is offered.
- To watch later, open Library > Downloaded.
Apple says downloads are not available through the app on Apple TV hardware, smart TVs, streaming devices, or tv.apple.com. A title, channel, or account limit may also prevent a download. Apple TV hardware is not required to watch Apple TV content. Choose a supported personal device if offline viewing matters; use a TV or browser for streaming. In either case, the listing for Foundation determines which subtitle, caption, and audio-description tracks you can select.
