You can watch some Amazon Prime Video titles while traveling, but you should not expect the full catalog from home to be available. Amazon says Prime members can stream selected titles abroad, and the selection may change. For a title you need on the trip, download it to a compatible device before leaving and confirm it is ready for offline viewing.
What to expect when streaming abroad
Amazon’s travel guidance says Prime members can stream selected Prime Video titles outside their home country. The available selection can change, so a title included in your home-country catalog may not be available in your destination. Check the title while you are there rather than assuming your usual catalog will carry over.

How to prepare titles for offline viewing
Amazon says you can download titles before traveling on a compatible device and watch them offline. Its usage rules give Fire tablets and Android and iOS devices as examples, but compatibility and download availability vary by device, title, and location.
- While still at home, sign in to Prime Video on the device you plan to take.
- Open the title and check whether a download option is available.
- Download it while connected to the internet.
- Before departure, check that the title appears as available offline on the device.
A download is a practical backup for a title you want to watch, but Amazon does not guarantee that every title can be downloaded on every device.

How EU travel affects availability
Amazon describes specific exceptions for EU residents. Residents traveling within the EU can access the same titles available in their country of residence. When traveling outside the EU, EU residents can stream and download Amazon Originals. Travel to the UK is treated differently: Amazon says EU residents there do not have access to the same titles as in their home country.
Add-on subscriptions have a home-country restriction
Prime Video add-on subscriptions, such as channel subscriptions, are available to stream only from the home country, according to Amazon. This is a separate restriction from the selected Prime Video titles that may be available during travel.

Traveling temporarily is different from moving
If you change your billing country or subscribe to Prime in a new country, access to some previous purchases or rentals may be affected. Amazon distinguishes that situation from temporary travel: the warning does not apply to travelers who have not changed their residence or Prime subscription country. If purchased content disappears after a move or country change, contact Amazon support.

Amazon’s cited travel guidance does not establish VPN use as a supported or reliable way to restore a home-country catalog. Do not count on a VPN to make unavailable titles accessible; Amazon says the titles available abroad can vary by location.
