To use a cheat menu on a console, first confirm that the exact mod called “Cheater’s Menu” appears in Baldur’s Gate 3’s in-game Mod Manager for your platform. Official mod browsing is supported on console, but the available information does not confirm that this particular mod is currently listed for PS5 or Xbox, nor establish its controls or compatibility with the latest game version. If it is not listed, there is no verified console workaround to offer.
Because a mod can become part of a campaign’s save requirements, try it in a separate campaign before using it in a long-running save. Keep track of the mods a save depends on, and do not remove one from that save just to see whether it still loads.
Check whether Cheater’s Menu is available on your console
Baldur’s Gate 3 added official mod support and an in-game Mod Manager with Patch 7. Console players can browse mods there; Xbox Wire specifically confirmed the Patch 7 Mod Manager for Xbox Series X|S on October 2, 2024. That confirms console mod browsing, not the current availability of every individual mod.
- Open Baldur’s Gate 3 and go to its in-game Mod Manager.
- Search for the exact name Cheater’s Menu.
- Check the listing’s platform availability, description, requirements, and version information. Make sure it is available on your console and compatible with the game version you are running.
- If the listing is available for your platform and its requirements are clear, follow the actions shown in the Mod Manager to download and enable it. Use the mod’s own current description for instructions; a verified button sequence or set of menu controls is not established here.
Larian’s Official Mod Support page describes the supported mod system. The specific Cheater’s Menu listing for PS5 or Xbox, its current compatibility, and its controls are not confirmed. If you cannot find it in the live in-game browser, do not treat PC console commands, third-party tools, or a similarly named mod as an equivalent console option.

Try the mod without putting your main campaign first
Use a separate campaign to check whether the mod works as expected before making it part of a save you care about. This is a precaution, not a guarantee that a separate save or backup prevents problems. If your platform provides a backup or copy route, you can consider using it before experimenting.
- Read the mod description and identify any stated requirements before enabling it.
- Keep a record of the mods and versions associated with a campaign.
- Do not disable a mod that an existing save may depend on just to test whether the save will still load.
- For multiplayer, make sure all participants use the same mods and versions.
Why a mod can affect a save
Larian lists mod-related problems such as a save failing to load past a percentage or the game crashing on launch. Updates, dependencies, and conflicts can change how supported mods behave. A save may depend on mods that were enabled when it was created. Larian’s console recovery notice warns that disabling or omitting required mods can cause crashes or other gameplay problems, and that instability may persist during recovery. That notice addresses a specific recovery situation involving saves that had exceeded a 100-mod limit; the figure is not a universal current limit for every console version or save. Its suggestions for trying to load without certain low-impact categories are specific to that case, not general instructions for removing mods from any campaign. Read Larian’s console fix notice before applying advice from it to a save.
Use the Mod Manager’s verification options when prompted
If a verification window appears when loading a save or joining a multiplayer session, review the requested mod changes rather than dismissing a dependency without understanding it. Larian documents options to download, enable, update, or downgrade mods so the active setup can match the save or session. Follow the prompts in light of the campaign’s required mods; do not assume that changing a mod set is harmless. See Synchronising Mods for the verification process.

Xbox cross-save is a limited recovery measure
For the save-loss issue described in Larian’s Xbox support guidance, the studio says cross-save can recover the last five saves when enabled. It is not a guarantee against mod-related crashes, incompatibility, or every form of save loss.
- Link your Larian account to the game.
- Open Options > Gameplay > Save Options > Cross-play.
- Enable cross-save and allow saves to synchronize.

If a modded save stops loading
- Avoid repeated experiments on the only copy of the save.
- Note the enabled mods and versions, then review the verification window and Larian’s current mod troubleshooting guidance.
- Do not remove a mod the campaign may require without understanding the likely consequences.
- For multiplayer, check that every participant’s mod set and versions match the save or session.
Larian’s support guidance notes that it cannot directly repair player-created mods, so a mod’s creator or current listing may be relevant for mod-specific problems.
