Use an AI agent with browser automation to open the job listing, verify that it is the right page, and save a screenshot of the viewport, a specific listing element, or the full scrollable page. Playwright documents all three capture scopes. Whether automation is permitted depends on the particular job portal; check its current rules and use only normal, allowed access.
Choose what part of the job page to capture
Playwright’s screenshot tool documentation describes the choices as: “Capture the viewport, a specific element, or the full scrollable page.” Which one to use depends on what you need the image to show.
| Scope | What it captures | Best suited to | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Viewport | The currently visible browser area | A listing that fits on screen, or evidence of what the agent saw at a particular moment | Content below the fold is not included. |
| Specific element | A selected page element, such as a listing card or detail panel | A focused image of one job listing | You must identify the correct element. Full-page capture cannot be combined with targeting a single element. |
| Full page | The full scrollable page, including content below the fold | A listing whose details extend beyond the viewport | The result can be tall. It cannot be combined with an element target. |
Use an AI agent with Playwright browser automation
The exact steps and tool names depend on the agent framework. In a Playwright browser-agent workflow, use page structure or accessible content to locate and verify the listing, then call the screenshot tool for the desired scope. Playwright distinguishes screenshots for visual inspection from browser snapshots that provide structure and references for interaction. A screenshot alone does not establish that the correct listing was found or that its text is accurate.
Recommended Free Tools
- Open the listing through the browser agent. Navigate to the job page using its normal browser context and permitted access.
- Verify the page. Check the visible job title or relevant page structure before capturing. Do not assume navigation succeeded just because the browser opened a URL.
- Select a capture scope. Choose the viewport, a specific listing element, or the full scrollable page according to the comparison above.
- Save and identify the image. Use a filename that helps you identify the listing and capture date, for example
company-role-2026-10-03.png. This naming convention is practical advice, not a Playwright requirement. - Review the result. Open the saved image and confirm that it shows the intended listing and the details you need.
For a concrete implementation, Playwright’s guide documents screenshots saved to a file, full-page captures, image bytes returned in a buffer, and screenshots of a locator. Its Page API documents screenshot options, including whether to render at CSS-pixel or device-pixel scale. Select a scale for your use case; there is no universal best resolution or format for every job portal.

Playwright code examples
These are direct Playwright examples for a page you are authorized to access. Install the Playwright package and configure a browser in your project as described in its documentation. Replace the example URL with the permitted listing URL. The examples show the capture operations; they do not bypass login, bot checks, or access restrictions.
Capture the current viewport
import { chromium } from 'playwright';
const browser = await chromium.launch();
const page = await browser.newPage();
await page.goto('https://example.com/job-listing', { waitUntil: 'domcontentloaded' });
// Verify the page before capturing it.
console.log(await page.title());
await page.screenshot({ path: 'job-listing.png' });
await browser.close();
Capture the full scrollable page
import { chromium } from 'playwright';
const browser = await chromium.launch();
const page = await browser.newPage();
await page.goto('https://example.com/job-listing', { waitUntil: 'domcontentloaded' });
console.log(await page.title());
await page.screenshot({ path: 'job-listing-full.png', fullPage: true });
await browser.close();
Capture one listing element
Use a selector that actually matches the listing on the page. The selector below is only an example; inspect the permitted page’s structure and replace it with a suitable locator.

const listing = page.locator('[data-testid="job-listing"]');
await listing.waitFor({ state: 'visible' });
await listing.screenshot({ path: 'job-listing-element.png' });
await browser.close();
Return screenshot bytes instead of writing a file
Playwright’s page screenshot API can also return image bytes. This example writes those bytes to a file; an application can instead pass the buffer to its own permitted storage or processing step.

await browser.close();
Check access before automating a job portal
The target portal is unspecified, so the information here cannot establish current automation rules for Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed, or another Indian job site. Technical ability to load a page does not itself grant permission to automate access or preserve its content.

- Check the specific portal’s current terms and access requirements.
- If the page requires login, blocks automation, or presents a challenge, stop and use an allowed route. Do not attempt to evade the restriction.

Troubleshoot common capture problems
The browser opened the wrong page or an error page
Check the page title and visible content before capture. A successful navigation call does not prove the intended listing loaded. If the portal redirected or returned an error, do not save that image as though it were the listing.
The listing element is not found or visible
The example selector is not universal. Inspect the page structure and choose a locator that matches the actual listing. If the page has not rendered the element yet, wait for it to become visible; if it does not appear, verify the page and access status rather than guessing a selector.

The screenshot omits details below the fold
A regular page screenshot covers the viewport. Use the full-page option when you need the entire scrollable page, or capture a specific element if the relevant content is contained in one suitable element.

The full-page capture is too tall
Full-page capture includes content throughout the scrollable page, so the resulting image may be long. If you need only the visible context or one listing panel, choose viewport or element capture instead.

The portal blocks the session or asks for a challenge
Stop rather than trying to bypass the restriction. Check the portal’s current rules and use an allowed access method.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A single GET request can return a screenshot or PDF. Before a capture, it accepts cookie and consent banners as a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.
For a screenshot of a permitted listing page, replace the example URL with the listing URL and use your API key:
