To send an Android phone’s camera or screen to Streamlabs Desktop over your local network, start LAN Streaming in Streamlabs Mobile, copy its current stream URL, then add that URL in Desktop as a Media Source with Local File turned off. Keep the phone and computer on the same local network; a phone using cellular data cannot deliver this LAN feed.
What you need for the built-in LAN method
- An Android phone with Streamlabs Mobile installed and signed in. Streamlabs’ documented LAN workflow is for Android.
- Streamlabs Desktop on the receiving computer.
- A shared local network: the phone can use Wi-Fi while the computer uses Ethernet, provided both connect to the same network.
This method sends a phone camera or screen feed to the computer, useful when using the phone as a webcam or bringing mobile gameplay into a Desktop scene. It is separate from NDI: the LAN URL is added as a Media Source, while an NDI feed is added as an NDI Source.
Connect Streamlabs Mobile to Streamlabs Desktop
- Connect both devices to the same local network. Put the Android phone on Wi-Fi and confirm the computer running Streamlabs Desktop is on that same network, whether by Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Open LAN Streaming in Streamlabs Mobile. In the mobile app, open the menu and choose LAN Streaming.
- Choose feed settings. Streamlabs recommends starting examples of 720p or 1080p, with example bitrates of 5000 for 720p and 10000 for 1080p. Leave the encoder set to H.264/AVC, as Streamlabs advises. These are the vendor’s example settings, not universal guarantees; the appropriate choice depends on your phone and local network.
- Start the LAN feed and get its URL. Tap Next, then choose Get Stream URL. On the computer, open the displayed URL and copy the URL under Using Streamlabs. At the end of the URL setup, select the FLV stream option.
- Add the feed in Streamlabs Desktop. Add a Media Source to the scene. In its properties, clear Local File, paste the copied URL into Input, and confirm. The phone feed should appear in the source preview.
Streamlabs notes that the URL can change. If a saved source later stops working, return to the mobile LAN setup and copy the current URL rather than assuming the old one is still valid. See Streamlabs’ Mobile LAN Streaming Source Guide for its current workflow details.
Use NDI only when the phone is sending NDI
If you are using an NDI-capable phone app rather than Streamlabs Mobile’s LAN URL workflow, receive that feed in Desktop as an NDI Source. The two workflows are not interchangeable: the built-in LAN method uses a Media Source and URL; NDI uses an NDI sender and NDI Source discovery.

Streamlabs says Streamlabs Desktop version 1.20.6 and later requires NDI SDK 6 or higher for NDI reception. Install the SDK runtime and reboot. If the source is not visible, check that installation and reboot completed, then allow both the sender and Desktop receiver through the firewall and ensure the network profile is private. Streamlabs’ NDI receiving setup covers the Desktop side; its NDI output guide describes using a mobile device as an NDI camera.
Troubleshoot a missing or broken LAN feed
- No feed appears: Verify that the phone and computer are still on the same local network. Ethernet on the computer and Wi-Fi on the phone is fine; cellular service is not the LAN route.
- The source worked before but stopped: The URL may have changed. Retrieve and paste the current URL from Streamlabs Mobile, and verify that the FLV stream option was selected.
- The URL and network look right: Streamlabs suggests closing and reopening the streaming software. In Streamlabs Mobile, its guide also identifies Main Menu → Advanced Settings as the location for adjusting TCP Delay and User Feedback Pop.
- You are following NDI instructions: Confirm that you are adding an NDI Source and have installed the required NDI SDK runtime, rebooted, and permitted the sender and receiver through the firewall on a private network profile. Those checks apply to NDI, not the LAN URL Media Source.
