Install the free Patch 15 update, then go to the Battle Barge and choose Siege > Hive. Hive is the Chaos Siege map, where you play as Heretic Astartes against Tyranids and Imperial forces. The publisher confirms the update for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC; the exact menu route is corroborated by player reports rather than spelled out in the official notes.
How to enter Chaos Siege
- Install Patch 15. Update Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 to Patch 15.0, released October 1, 2026. The publisher describes the update as free and available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. See the Patch 15 announcement.
- Go to the Battle Barge. Open the Siege mode selection there.
- Select Hive. Choose the new Hive map rather than the original Siege map. Player reports identify Hive as the Chaos Siege option; the official patch notes confirm Hive as the new Siege map but do not document the button-by-button menu path. See player reports on finding the mode.
What to expect in Hive
Hive is set in a hive city on Avarax. You control Heretic Astartes, with Cultists and a Helbrute as support, and fight Tyranids and Imperial opponents, including Cadians and loyalist Space Marines. Focus Entertainment’s Patch 15.0 notes describe the mode as an opportunity to play as Heretic Astartes in Siege. Read the official Patch 15.0 notes.
If Hive does not appear
- Check the installed update. Confirm that Patch 15 is installed and that the game has finished updating.
- Choose the map from Siege. The route reported by players is Battle Barge, Siege selection, then Hive. Customizing Heretic armor is not the same as launching the map.
- Do not look in Crucible. Patch 15 treats Crucible as a separate PvE feature, not the way to start Chaos Siege.
The official Patch 15 notes reviewed do not specify a character-level requirement or a separate progression unlock for Chaos Siege. They present it as content in the free update, but that does not rule out a later access condition or a change in a future patch.

Focus Entertainment’s September 2026 community update described two Siege sectors and said a third was in development. That was a pre-release count, so it should not be taken as a definitive live sector count after Patch 15 launched. Read the September community update.
