To end a normal session in the Brick phone app, tap your phone to the physical Brick device again. If you do not have the device or need urgent access, use one of Brick’s five Emergency Unbricks in the app.
End a normal Brick session with the physical device
Brick’s intended way to regain access after starting a session is to tap your phone against the Brick device again. The session setup lets you choose apps and modes, then activate blocking by tapping your phone to Brick; a second tap ends it. See Brick’s product instructions.
- Bring the phone you used to start the session to your physical Brick.
- Tap the phone against the Brick device to end the session and regain access to the blocked apps.
If you do not have your Brick: use an Emergency Unbrick
Brick’s FAQ says the app includes five Emergency Unbricks that automatically unblock apps. Its support instructions describe opening Brick Settings and selecting Use an Emergency Unbrick. Use this fallback when the device is unavailable or access is urgent; Brick presents it as a limited emergency option, not the usual way to end a session. Brick’s FAQ says you can contact support to request five more, but does not guarantee that request will be granted.
- Open Brick Settings in the app.
- Tap Use an Emergency Unbrick.
- If you still need to unblock apps and have another emergency use available, repeat the action.
If neither option works
Contact Brick at hello@getbrick.com if tapping the device or using an Emergency Unbrick does not restore access, or if you have used all five. Brick’s published materials do not promise a support override or an account-side reset.

Why deleting the app is not the standard fix
Brick Support says Strict Mode prevents users from deleting the Brick app during an active session. Brick also describes using a Screen Time passcode and Apple Shortcuts to restrict access to settings. These are intended restrictions, not alternate session-ending steps; use the physical tap or Emergency Unbrick instead. See Brick’s guidance on making Brick stricter.
Which Brick app does this apply to?
These steps apply to the Brick phone app and physical device from Brick LLC, not necessarily another app named “Brick.” Brick’s official pages differ on the iOS minimum: its FAQ says iOS 18.0 or later, while its product page says iOS 17.0 or later. Check the current App Store listing or ask Brick Support before relying on either requirement.
